Table of contents

Technique weapons are categorized by their fast attacks that allow for more agile playstyles in Lies of P. They may not hit as hard as the ones that scale off Motivity, but they make up for it with their speed and capacity for aggression.

While all other weapons in Lies of P can be turned into Technique weapons via Cranks and Handle alterations, the following list only contains those that are designed to scale off the Technique stat by default, maximizing the effectiveness of Cranks while sparing players the need to swap handles.

New Hard Souls-Like Can Be Beat in Less than 2 Hours

An avid speedrunner manages to beat the latest critically acclaimed Souls-like in under two hours mere weeks after its release.

Updated July 2, 2024 by Marc Santos: This list of the best Technique weapons for Lies of P remains accurate even after all the changes that have been implemented into the game since its release. Every weapon can and will carry players all the way to the end, though some are objectively better than others in terms of raw damage stats. This guide has been updated to include one additional weapon that received a major damage buff after the game's 1.3.0 update that saw sweeping changes to many weapons across most (if not all) categories.

Wintry Rapier

The Wintry Rapier and its stats in Lies of P

Despite being a starter weapon, the Wintry Rapier is more than capable of carrying players throughout the entire campaign as long as it's upgraded. The weapon's fast stabs and reliable Fable Arts make it a solid choice for any Technique build.

Stabbing weapons are naturally weak against groups of enemies, but it shouldn't be an issue if players can isolate their targets. With enough skill and constant use of weapon buffs via the Grinder and consumables, the Wintry Rapier will be able to take down even the biggest of enemies as effectively as the moment it was picked up in the train.

Etiquette

Lies of P - Pinocchio Using Single Stab With Etiquette

This fancy umbrella doubles as a rapier designed for thrusting attacks. It may seem weak at first, but if you invest enough upgrade materials in it, Etiquette turns into a complete monster that's capable of bum rushing bosses well into the lategame, especially since it got a significant damage buff in the game's 1.3.0 patch.

Etiquette has good range and can continuously stagger enemies extremely well for a one-handed weapon. Also, it's one of the very few weapons in the game that can get an S scaling with Technique. It does get outclassed by other options damage-wise, but it's hard to deny that this weapon is strong in its own right.

Shadow of the Erdtree has proven to be challenging for a number of reasons, one of which demonstrates what FromSoftware can learn from Lies of P.

Booster Glaive

Fully-upgraded Booster Glaive in Lies of P

The Booster Glaive is a slow but powerful weapon that can help players close gaps via its Blade Fable Art and charged heavy attacks. Its rocket-powered handle will send players hurtling toward their targets to deliver powerful blows at the cost of having a slow base attack speed.

Despite being slow, what makes the Booster Glaive valuable is its aforementioned gap closers and its base B scaling for Technique, which can be increased to A with a Technique Crank. This weapon can one-shot most human-sized enemies, and it can comfortably perform hit-and-run tactics thanks to its unique handle. It can be obtained by opening the chest in the Puppet of the Future's pit in Venigni Works.

Dancer's Curved Sword

The Dancer's Curved Sword in Lies of P

Players who want something more exotic may want to use the Dancer's Curved Sword instead. Its moveset resembles the graceful movements of a dancer, effectively allowing it to attack faster than other greatswords like the Booster Glaive or Holy Sword of the Ark.

Speed is the Dancer's Curved Sword's greatest strength. It has a high DPS potential, making it an excellent choice for players who can constantly stagger enemies or exploit long recovery times. This weapon can be found in a chest on Rosa Isabelle Street, near the open air theatre where players fight the White Lady.

Lies of P has quite a few bosses for Pinocchio to struggle against, with some being a lot more difficult to beat than others.

Tyrant Murderer's Dagger

The Tyrant Murderer's Dagger and its stats in Lies of P

This inconspicuous dagger sold by Pulcinella is one of the few weapons in the game that can critically strike. It has a base critical rate of 30, which gives all of its attacks a chance to deal additional damage. Its blade also comes with the Grind Fable Art, which increases the critical rate even further.

The Tyrant Murderer's Dagger suffers from the low range inherent to all knives. This isn't necessarily bad, especially for those who can comfortably fight in close quarters. However, it's worth noting that the blade will retain its critical hit properties even when attached to other handles. Consider using the City Long Spear Handle with it so it retains a B scaling on Technique without losing its stab-focused moveset.

Puppet Ripper

The Puppet Ripper and its stats in Lies of P

Puppet King Romeo's scythe has what might be the longest range out of any two-handed melee weapon in the game. A fully charged heavy attack from it sends the blade flying around players before snapping back into place. It's great for hitting distant enemies, but its true strength lies in its ability to hit targets through obstacles.

Charged attacks from the Pupper Ripper do not bounce off the environment. If players and their target are in between a carriage, low wall, tree, or other similar obstacle, then the Puppet Ripper will still hit them no matter what happens. It's still a decent weapon outside this scenario though, so don't be afraid to duel properly with it.

One of Lies of P's most memorable group of villains was the Black Rabbit Brotherhood, but the game may have robbed the sequel of a memorable moment.

Two Dragons Sword

The Two Dragons Sword in Lies of P

Out of all weapons in Lies of P, the Two Dragons Sword is one of the two weapons that can get an S scaling in Technique (next to Etiquette, as mentioned earlier). Because of that, it'll deal the most damage out of everything else when used in a Technique build, and its moveset isn't bad at all, either.

The Two Dragons Sword is a special weapon that focuses on counter-attacks. Its heavy attack can be used to parry incoming hits and immediately follow up with a devastating flourish that's often enough to stagger most enemies. The weapon's Blade Fable Art works as a forward dodge as well, giving players more options to press their attack.

Proof of Humanity

The Proof of Humanity in Lies of P

The special weapon earned from killing the final boss in the game is expectedly strong and just as flashy. It can slash rapidly with its heavy attacks, and it can also critically strike by default, just like the Tyrant Murderer's Dagger. It doesn't scale as well with Technique as the Two Dragons Sword, but it still hits hard thanks to that base crit chance it has.

The only real downside to Proof of Humanity is that it'll only really be useful on NG+ and beyond, given how it's dropped by the final boss. It won't make the first campaign run any easier, but it's a fun and powerful tool to use if players find themselves craving more of the game's tight combat.
