Special weapons ignore the unique assembly feature in Lies of P in favor of a more traditional approach. Instead of having detachable heads and handles, these cannot be altered, and they offer abilities that are built into their core design ideas. They may not be as flexible as the rest of the weapons, but they are definitely more special.

Lies of P: Best Starting Weapons (Best Early Game Weapons)

Here are five excellent starting weapons in Lies of P to help new and veteran Soulslike players hit their stride.

Like every other piece in the Lies of P arsenal, the effectiveness of a Special Weapon varies greatly from another. There's no one-size-fits-all solution, but there are a few options that come very close. For players who are looking to spice their builds up, here's an overview of the best Special Weapons in the game, selected based on moveset, Fable Arts, scaling, and general power.

Uroboros' Eye

This mechanical saw made from Laxasia's Ergo favors slashing moves with vertical and diagonal swipes in its attacks. It has a base Technique scaling of B, which can be boosted to A with the help of a Technique Crank. It's not as fast as other Technique weapons, but its Fable Arts more than make up for it.

The Uroboros' Eye can be revved up like a chainsaw, increasing the number of hits it inflicts with a single attack. This increases the weapon's overall damage, making it great for staggering and sawing through big and meaty targets. Its blade can also be thrown to deal continuous damage from afar.

Holy Sword of the Ark

Versatility is important when choosing a weapon, and the Holy Sword of the Ark is more than capable of winning duels and cleaving through groups. Its Fable Art allows players to extend the handle of the sword, essentially turning it into a glaive with wide sweep attacks and lower stamina consumption. By default, it focuses its fury on single targets with vertical and diagonal slashes.

The sword blade's Fable Art, Patient Smash, also changes depending on the handle's length. When extended, players will rush forward and unleash a barrage of strikes. On the other hand, players will wind up and charge a very strong blow that can deal massive damage to anything it hits when the sword handle is retracted.

Two Dragons Sword

This weapon is designed for players who aim for mastery of the parry system. The Two Dragons Sword's charged heavy attack can deflect attacks and immediately follow up with a strong counter that deals heavy poise and health damage. It's very effective against slow and predictable enemies like the Carcasses and the Nameless Puppet.

Moreover, this sword is capable of reaching an S scaling in Technique, making it the perfect weapon for builds focusing on that stat. Its attacks have good forward and backward movement, and the blade's Fable Art functions as an emergency forward dodge that can chain into a devastating counterattack.

Puppet Ripper

The signature weapon of Puppet King Romeo has a deceptively long range thanks to the chain connecting its blade and handle. Charged attacks with this weapon can multiply enemies and ignore collision with terrain, making it surprisingly useful even in tight quarters.

Outside this range gimmick, the Puppet Ripper is no slouch either when it comes to dealing direct damage. With its high Technique-based damage profile, it can confidently fight any enemy as long as players take its slow swings to account. Its Fable Arts offers options for dealing damage in single-target and group scenarios, making it fairly versatile in both environments.

Proof of Humanity

The Proof of Humanity in Lies of P

This signature sword used by the final boss is one of the most versatile weapons in the game. It functions much like an ordinary longsword, but using heavy attacks causes players to attack with two blades instead of one. Since it hits twice, it applies elemental status effects like Overheat and Electric Blitz more quickly than others, so keep this in mind when making a build around special Grindstones and consumable items.

Proof of Humanity is also one of the few weapons in the game that can critically strike. It will randomly deal more damage per hit regardless of what attacks players use, and enabling its handle's Fable Art increases that chance significantly. This sword has a B scaling in both Motivity and Technique, making it a decent option for almost any build.

Lies of P is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
