Highlights

  • Amulets are a crucial resource in Lies of P , providing stat buffs that stack and help players create unique and effective builds.
  • The Murderer Puppets Amulet is situational but useful against Stalkers, masked humans who are difficult to deal with without perfect parries.
  • The Transformation Amulet, with its Advance stat buff, is essential for resisting status effects and is especially valuable during boss fights.

While Lies of P is a game packed with upgrade trees, unique weapons, and handy tools to make use of, one of the most important resources that often goes overlooked is the Amulets. Pinocchio will only be able to hold 2 Amulets at the beginning of the game, but as players expand the P-Organ, they will be able to unlock more slots, and the stat buffs provided by them will stack onto one another.

Amulets are, therefore, essential for creating any type of build, and due to the vast array of weapons and Legion Arms, it means there are plenty of unique and fun playstyles to try out during a playthrough. These are the Amulets that provide essential buffs that will help ensure Pinocchio makes it through the city of Krat in one piece.

8 Murderer Puppets Amulet

Murderer Puppet's Amulet
  • Ability: Increased damage to humans.
  • How to unlock: Obtained upon defeating the Tail-Stinger Carcass in the Central Station.

Since the majority of enemies Pinocchio encounters in the game are mindless puppets, it does admittedly limit the usefulness of this Amulet, but where it really shines is when running into one of the many Stalkers. These enemies are masked humans who have completely lost their minds since the puppet rebellion occurred, with them now swinging their swords at anything they see.

While these duels tend to be a little easier to deal with when compared to the gigantic puppet behemoths, they can still be tricky to deal with without executing a few perfect parries, which isn't always a guarantee. While it's, therefore, incredibly situational, since a Stalker usually shows up every few areas, it can still be well worth keeping handy.

7 Swordsmanship Master's Amulet

Swordsmanship's Amulet
  • Ability: Weapons degrade at a slower rate.
  • How to unlock: Picked up from the body of the Steampunk Puppet in the Workshop Union Culvert.

Weapon durability initially might not seem like a big deal in the first hour or two, but as the customization options begin to open up, it's easy to create a deadly greatsword or lighting-fast rapier, only to forget about the fact that they can break. After about 5 swings of any weapon, the damage it deals will be reduced and will keep dropping until eventually hitting zero, where it will fall apart entirely.

This isn't ideal after switching around blades and handles to create a brand-new weapon before a mission, only to have it break after taking down a handful of puppets, but having this Amulet makes the feature more or less irrelevant for large chunks of the game. While Pinocchio can still use his Grinder to sharpen up weapons, the few seconds it takes to re-sharpen a blade become crucial when facing the mid to late-game boss fights.

6 Transformation Amulet

Transformation Amulet
  • Ability: Advance +4
  • How to unlock: Purchased from Pulcinella at Hotel Krat for 1750 Ergo.

The Advance stat in Lies of P refers to Pinocchio's resistance to status effects, alongside also boosting his overall strength. As Pinocchio ventures deeper into Krat, he will run into many unique enemies that will use electricity, acid, and fire to slow him down, and since these attacks often come out of nowhere, it can lead to an early trip back to the closest Stargazer is players aren't careful.

Rather than stocking up on ailments to cure Pinocchio for each status effect, it's much easier to simply keep this stat buff Amulet equipped. It's especially well worth saving a slot for this Amulet when a boss is around the corner since many of them will inflict status effects randomly during a fight, such as the terrifying Fallen Archbishop who loves throwing out Decay every chance he gets.

5 Patience Amulet

Patience Amulet
  • Ability: Increase the recovery speed of stamina.
  • How to unlock: Picked up after defeating the enemy that rushes after Pinocchio in Malum District.

The Patience Amulet is specifically effective for players who are running a heavy build with a greatsword as their primary weapon, though it will prove its worth on pretty much any build, especially since any action will drain stamina in this game. Attacking, dodging, sprinting, and blocking in certain circumstances will drain Pinocchio's stamina, leaving him wide open for an attack once it reaches zero.

The stamina recovery speed will be noticeably faster when this Amulet is equipped, which saves having to spend hundreds of Ergo on leveling up the Vigor stat. When playing with the Path of the Sweeper combat style, though, the Patience Amulet becomes absolutely essential since a missed swing of a greatsword is going to cost a good portion of stamina, so ensuring it recharges quickly is a necessity for boss fights.

4 Conquering Amulet

Conquering Amulet
  • Ability: Weapon damage is increased after a successful Perfect Guard.
  • How to unlock: Exchange a single King's Flame Ergo with Alidoro.

Perfect Guards definitely require a good amount of practice to become familiar with, but they're a quick and easy way to finish off some of the more stubborn enemies in the game if pulled off successfully. Not only does a Perfect Guard allow Pinocchio to lose no health after being hit, but it also has a chance of breaking the enemy's weapon and putting them in a staggered state where they can be cut down to size.

Having the extra boost of weapon damage after pulling off a Perfect Guard makes it easy to deal with multiple enemies at once, especially when carrying around a bulky greatsword where multiple enemies can be caught in a single swing. As for bosses, while they won't be quite as easy to stagger, even when pulling off a Perfect Guard, having a more powerful weapon still helps to melt their health bars a little faster.

3 Puppet Destroyer's Amulet

Puppet Destroyer's Amulet
  • Ability: Increase damage inflicted on puppet enemies.
  • How to unlock: Found in a chest located in the Krat City Hall lobby.

Human enemies might be a fairly rare occurrence in Lies of P; instead, the streets of Krat are absolutely filled with puppets swinging around swords, tossing bombs, and firing weapons from the rooftops. The Puppet Destroyer's Amulet will automatically make any weapon Pinocchio is using much stronger when attacking these mindless entities, and if the player also takes the time to increase their weapon's attack stats by speaking to Eugenie, they'll have a real tool of destruction on their hands.

This is an Amulet that will prove useful for the majority of encounters in the game, so it's always worth snooping around the lobby of Krat City Hall to retrieve it and keep it equipped for the long term. The actual amount of extra damage added to Pinocchio's attacks is 10%, which might not seem like a whole lot on the surface, but it makes a noticeable impact when in actual combat.

2 Recharged Amulet

Recharged Amulet
  • Ability: Slowly restores HP over time.
  • How to unlock: Found in a chest guarded by a Junk Centurion Puppet near the Barren Swamp Entrance.

Normally, Pinocchio will need to rely on using his Pulse Cells to restore his HP in the midst of battle, but not only are these restricted to only a handful of uses, but they also take quite a while to use. The Recharged Amulet is almost game-breaking in the way it works, allowing the player to largely forget about Pulse Cells since they'd now only need to use them in extreme circumstances where the Amulet isn't recharging HP quite fast enough.

It's definitely not the easiest item to retrieve, though, being guarded by a menacing Junk Centurion Puppet, which can be a little tricky to take down without a good weapon and Legion Arm equipped. The challenge is well worth overcoming through retrieving an Amulet, which is guaranteed to keep Pinocchio on his feet during his nightmarish journey.

1 Arm Of God Amulet

Arm Of God Amulet
  • Ability: Increases attack damage with each successful hit.
  • How to unlock: Speak to Alidoro and exchange one Reborn Champion's Ergo. This can be obtained from Champion Victor.

This Amulet really is as good as it sounds, providing Pinocchio with a temporary damage buff each time he manages to land an attack of his own on an enemy, regardless of whether it's a human or puppet. While it is one of the heaviest Amulets in the game, it's worth making space for since it has the ability to turn Pinocchio into an absolute puppet killing machine if he manages to land a few strikes without getting hit.

The attack buff might only be brief, but so long as players are skilled enough to land their attacks one after the other, it can make quick work of a group of puppets, Stalkers, or even bosses. It's also one of the rare Amulets that will be useful for just about any encounter; just make sure to gear up and keep some fire bombs handy when taking on Victor, as he most definitely won't hand over his Ergo without one hell of a fight.

Lies of P is available now on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series S and X, Xbox One, and PC.
