All Weather Conditions And Effects In Lethal Company

Other than the normal Clear weather, Lethal Company has five other weather conditions. You will encounter a new set of difficulties with each of these five weather conditions. Certain weather scenarios must be avoided at all costs, but others may be managed if you know how.

Rainy

Rainy weather is the most prevalent weather effect in the game. As can be inferred from the name, this weather condition describes a drizzle on the moon.

Aside from creating Quicksand, which you will occasionally encounter when hiking through the moons, rain doesn't present ,any difficulties. Quicksands are black patches of mud that will pull players inside them, eventually causing their deaths. This deadly environmental danger appears exclusively on moons with rainy weather.

However, quicksand is easy to avoid and escape if you know how. If you find yourself stuck in quicksand, sprint to the shore as fast as possible. Make sure you respond quickly, since chances of survival decrease as you descend further.

Rainy weather conditions are more manageable than others, so there is no reason to shun a moon with rainy weather. All you need to do is be careful while moving outside the facility, and inform teammates about quicksand’s location if you notice any.

Stormy

lightning strike

Stormy weather is a bit more severe than rainy weather. It is common to encounter heavy thunderstorms and a lot of rain on a moon with stormy weather. While stormy moons do not feature quicksand, they do feature a more dangerous threat.

There is a significant chance that lightning might hit you if you are out in the open during stormy weather on any moon. If you are carrying any metal objects in your hands while moving, this likelihood substantially rises. Thus, moving metal objects from the facility to the ship during a lightning storm can be difficult.

Fortunately, there will be a warning before a lightning strike occurs. When this warning is given, put all metal objects on the ground and retreat to a safe distance as soon as an alert flashes on your screen. You may pick up the metal object and return it to your ship after the lightning strike is over.

Lightning storms can potentially disrupt internal lighting systems and harm ships that have metal objects stored inside of them. It is, therefore, necessary to understand how to carry metal objects during a lightning storm to survive stormy weather.

Flooded

Flooded weather conditions offer dynamic difficulty. While moving around on a flooded moon, you will often see small swamps on the grounds. These are typically not dangerous during the early hours of the day. However, as time passes, these swamps' water levels will keep rising more and more.

Crossing the swamp will become more difficult for you and your team as the water level increases. Therefore, you have to return to your ship as soon as possible before the water level rises too much, to avoid dying in the flood.

Landing on a flooded moon is not advised, since you will get much less time to collect and bring back the scraps. With less time to look for scraps, you might not reach the profit quota, or might risk wasting the day completely.

However, if you find yourself on a flooded moon, keep one of your crew members on board to assess the water level. Talk to them using a walkie-talkie, and as soon as they issue a warning, return to the ship. If you intend to spend a significant amount of time at the facility, bring the jetpack, which may be used to navigate over flooded areas.

As a final attempt to prevent drowning, you can use the teleporter. But remember that when you are transported back to the ship, you will lose all the items in your inventory.

Foggy

Since no exceptional environmental dangers exist on a moon with foggy weather, the only challenge is the lack of visibility while moving outside the facilities. It is usually quite difficult to see where you are going in thick fog. This frequently results in losing your way to the ship or the facility, falling into holes, and dying. This weather condition also makes it much harder to spot any monster like the Eyeless Dog crawling in the distance.

It is better to steer clear of moons with Foggy weather conditions if you are unfamiliar with the facility entrance or ship’s location. Moons like Rend, Dine, and Titan are mostly covered with thick fog, making them the hardest moons to navigate in Lethal Company.

However, these moons also have high-value scraps, making them must-visit places when you have a high-profit quota to fulfill. Thus, commit your route to memory for the facility and the return to your ship to prevent getting lost in the fog. While roaming out in the open, pay close attention to surrounding sounds and keep an ear out for any sounds that may be monsters.

Many light towers illuminate the route to Rend and Dine's main entrance. Continue to follow these lights, and you will soon find the facility entrance. Make sure to move closely together as a group, and use the proximity chat to help keep each other from getting lost in the fog. It will also be easier to locate any crewmate in the thick fog if you use the flashlight to show your position.

Eclipsed

eclipsed moon lethal company

Eclipsed moons must be avoided at all costs in Lethal Company. An eclipse occurs when the moon passes directly in front of the sun, causing complete darkness throughout the day. Owing to this phenomenon, there are frequently terrifying monsters that creep around on the moon.

In normal weather, monsters like the Eyeless Dog, Forest Keeper, or Earth Leviathan mostly spawn after 5 PM. However, due to the darkness of the Eclipse, these monsters can spawn randomly at any time on a moon with the Eclipsed weather conditions. This can make traveling across the moon extremely difficult, and drastically increase the chance of you being the prey of a monster. Many players have also reported an increased spawn rate of monsters on an Eclipsed moon.

Still, you may land on an eclipsed moon if you're up for some tough challenges. If you choose to do so, ensure you and your teammates are prepared to deal with the monsters as soon as you touch the moon’s surface. Items like the Zap Gun, Flashlight, Teleporter, and Inverse Teleporter can help you travel across an eclipsed moon's dangerous terrain.

How To Check Weather In Lethal Company

lethal company terminal

You can check the weather of any moon prior to landing using the Terminal on your ship. It is strongly recommended that you always check the weather before landing. This way, you can ensure you are prepared for any dangers the weather may pose, or avoid it altogether if necessary

To check the existing weather conditions, follow these simple steps. First, stand in front of the Terminal and press E to access the Terminal. Then, type ‘moons’ in the terminal command section and press enter. This will bring a list of all the moons and the weather conditions besides their name. For example: “March (Eclipsed).”

Can You Change Weather In Lethal Company?

Unfortunately, you cannot change the weather conditions in Lethal Company. The moon's weather will automatically end after you have brought your ship back into orbit after completing a whole day on the moon.

Every moon's weather is assigned randomly through the game’s mechanics, and there is no way to alter these conditions. Furthermore, the weather conditions will not affect the amount of scraps on a moon or the value of the scraps you collect from that moon.
