The new LEGO Super Mario Starter Course, a cooperative effort between LEGO and Nintendo is already sold out on most online stores, including LEGO's official website. While not out yet, the Starter Course is currently set to release on August 1st of 2020, priced at $59.99.

In addition to the LEGO Super Mario Starter Course, several expansions are planned for the same product line but not yet available for pre-order, including a balancing game titled Piranha Plant Power Slide, and a castle set titled Bowser's Castle Boss Battle. LEGO Super Mario sets will be modular, meaning that pieces from the sets can be arranged in whatever order is desired, allowing for the creation of custom Mario courses made out of LEGO.

In addition, the LEGO version of Mario himself comes with a variety of features. These include an accelerometer, a sensor on Mario's feet, a gyroscope, speakers, and screens on Mario's eyes, mouth, and stomach. These allow LEGO Mario to detect and respond with sounds and images to collecting coins, jumping on enemies, reaching the flag pole, falling in lava, and more.

There are currently very few ways of pre-ordering the LEGO Super Mario Starter Course, due to high demand. However, as of writing, Best Buy, as well as several European retailers are still offering the set, though these won't come with the additional expansions given for free when pre-ordering from LEGO.com.

The LEGO Super Mario Starter Course is slated for release on August 1st, 2020.
