LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga may be one of the most expansive Star Wars games around, but it still leaves a lot to be desired. Traveller's Tales adapted all nine Skywalker Saga films and gave players a giant galaxy to explore, but while it truly feels like a love letter to the franchise, it leaves out some major entries. Not only does LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga not include the A Star Wars Story films, it also leaves out the very popular Mandoverse.

It does not seem like Traveller's Tales has any plans to add The Mandalorian's story to LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, leaving its characters relegated to character packs instead. However, the Mandoverse includes some of the most popular Star Wars content currently being produced, and fans would undoubtedly love to explore it themselves. It feels like Traveller's Tales would be leaving money on the table if it did not create a full-fledged LEGO Mandalorian game.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Barely Explored The Mandalorian

Multiple characters from the Star Wars franchise in Lego form stand together on a rocky hill with the night sky behind them

Traveller's Tales was able to pack nine films into LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, making it the largest LEGO Star Wars game to date, but the biggest downside is that non-Skywalker Saga content did not make the cut. Players cannot experience Solo: A Star Wars Story, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, or the many Star Wars TV shows airing on Disney+. This holds the game back from being the perfect Star Wars game, and the DLC did not change that.

Traveller's Tales offered two season passes for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, but every DLC pack only added new characters. These characters were based on many of the Star Wars projects that did not make the cut, but they did not come with new levels. They were also not voiced, and mostly just served as cosmetic fluff. This has left fans of shows like The Mandalorian with no way experience that story, which could be addressed in a sequel.

LEGO The Mandalorian Could Finally Tell Mandalore's Story

The Darksaber In The Mandalorian

The whole Mandalore story has enthralled audiences for decades. Fans watched as Mandalore fell apart during The Clone Wars, followed the Mandalorians as they tried to find a future in Rebels, and they are now watching the surviving Mandalorians attempt to retake their home in The Mandalorian. It has been interesting so far, but Traveller's Tales should let fans experience it firsthand.

A LEGO Mandalorian game could tell the full story of Mandalore, letting players experience the constant infighting, desperate fleeing from the Empire, and the fight to reclaim it. It could serve as a love letter to that part of the franchise, and a great framing device to adapt The Clone Wars, Rebels, The Mandalorian, and even The Book of Boba Fett together. Each project deserves to shine in a modern LEGO game, and the Mandalorian lore can unite them all.

Another LEGO Star Wars title is likely a ways off, and no one really knows what it will adapt. Traveller's Tales has mostly stayed within the confines of the films, but it is now time for it to branch out. The Mandalorians feel like perfect protagonists for a new LEGO adventure, and there has never been a better time to make something riding off their success.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
