  • Cal Kestis is getting his own LEGO minifigure.
  • Speculation surrounds Cal Kestis minifigure release in the upcoming Death Star set, coinciding with Star Wars Day on May the Fourth.

Fans finally have their first look at Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s Cal Kestis as a LEGO Star Wars minifigure. The first LEGO Star Wars building sets were released in 1999 to promote Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace, and for the past 25 years the Galaxy Far, Far Away has been one of LEGO’s most popular settings. About 928 LEGO Star Wars sets have been released as of April 2024, and there have been countless tie-in animated movies and Traveller’s Tales-developed LEGO Star Wars video games to go with them.

While LEGO has mainly focused on the Star Wars movies and television shows, there have been sets inspired by Star Wars video games as well. 2008 saw the release of a model Rogue Shadow from Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, complete with minifigures of Starkiller, Juno Eclipse, and a battle-damaged Darth Vader. Four sets inspired by Star Wars: The Old Republic were released in 2012, featuring vehicles and characters from BioWare’s popular MMO. Even BD-1 from Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was honored with a LEGO set in 2022, though his owner Cal Kestis has yet to be seen in LEGO form until now.

Now Is The Right Time For a New LEGO Star Wars Game

Given the franchise's massive growth in recent years, there has never been a better time for Traveller's Tales to make a new LEGO Star Wars game.

Late last week, the official LEGO Star Wars UK Twitter account posted a commemorative video to celebrate the line’s upcoming 25th anniversary, featuring animated LEGO Star Wars minifigures re-enacting scenes from the many Star Wars movies and TV shows. Towards the end, a minifigure version of Cal Kestis from Star Wars Jedi: Survivor leaps into action to help Saw Gerrera and the crew of the Ghost fend off Imperial Stormtroopers alongside the aforementioned BD-1. The pair appear again at the very end as part of a group picture taken by Grogu of The Mandalorian fame.

LEGO Cal Kestis Minifigure Has Been Rumored In The Past

It still hasn’t been confirmed when this Cal Kestis minifigure will be released in an official LEGO set, but rumors have hinted at him being included in an upcoming 25th-anniversary Death Star set. This would be part of an ongoing line of new LEGO Star Wars models made in honor of the theme, with special edition minifigures like Darth Malek from Knights of the Old Republic and the aforementioned Saw Gerrera packed in as bonuses.

Cal Kestis is one of the biggest characters to come from the recent wave of licensed Star Wars video games, with his story rumored to continue in the yet-unannounced third Star Wars Jedi title. Now he is being immortalized in LEGO minifigure form at long last, with said figure faithfully recreating his appearance from last year’s hit Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. More information about this new Cal minifigure could be revealed during Star Wars Day, so fans should probably mark their calendars for May the Fourth this weekend.
