LEGO has announced its latest Lord of the Rings-themed Rivendell set, a massive collection that ships with over 6,000 pieces. In partnership with Warner Brothers Discovery Global Consumer Products, LEGO's Lord of the Rings: Rivendell set will mark the latest addition to the popular LEGO Icons series.

Fans from both the books and the movies will remember Rivendell's significance in the Lord of the Rings franchise. Established by Elrond, Rivendell was most notably featured in The Fellowship of the Ring where the main cast gathers together for the first time before embarking on the journey to destroy the ring. Now, LEGO has brought life into the iconic location through its latest LEGO set, complete with fan-favorite moments and Easter eggs from the series.

Talking about the Lord of the Rings: Rivendell set, LEGO Design Master Mike Psaiki claimed that the aim was to "add as much detail as possible" in hopes of creating an engaging experience throughout the build. According to the announcement, the set includes three sections from the beloved IP. The first section features the Council Ring, Frodo's bedroom, and Elrond's study followed by an elven tower in the second section with the Gazebo, river, and bridge in the third section. The Rivendell set also ships with 15 minifigures that include all nine members of the Fellowship as well as Elrond, Arwen, and Bilbo Baggins, along with additional elves and a dwarf. These are further complemented by memorable elements from the franchise such as Aragorn’s ranger sword, Sting, and shards of Narsil, among others.

The LEGO Icons series is a highly popular collection of a variety of sets from iconic franchises. Previously, the company added a LEGO Atari 2600 set followed by a 2,800-piece Mighty Bowser set. Now, the introduction of a 6,167-piece Lord of the Rings: Rivendell LEGO set promises to be an intriguing entry into the series for both LEGO and Lord of the Rings fans alike. It will be interesting to see what else the company has planned for its adult-centric LEGO Icons sets.
