Dungeons and Dragons is getting a new LEGO set this spring. The newly unveiled product, meant to help commemorate the 50th anniversary of the celebrated tabletop game, originated from LEGO's massively successful crowdsourcing platform.

The service in question is LEGO Ideas, which the Danish toymaker has been running since 2008. Originally called LEGO CUUSOO, the platform has so far helped make countless fan-made LEGO sets a reality.

Nintendo and LEGO announce a new Mario Kart set and showcase three other LEGO Super Mario products as part of early Mar10 Day celebrations.

The latest example of that trend arrives in the form of an intricate Dungeons and Dragons LEGO set authored by Lucas "BoltBuilds" Bolt, a 23-year-old Dutch national and brick-building enthusiast. The set is meant to serve as a microcosm of the cult-classic tabletop game, as underlined by the fact that it includes many of its hallmark locations and iconic creatures, like the owlbear and displacer beast. This LEGO homage to the Dungeons and Dragons franchise incorporates 3,745 pieces in total and is 37x30x48cm (14.6x11.8x18.9″) in size.

The first-ever LEGO Ideas set based on Dungeons and Dragons is scheduled to hit the store shelves on April 4, priced at $359.99. As per usual, members of the free LEGO Insiders program will have an opportunity to purchase it a few days early, starting from April 1.

LEGO Insiders will also get to enjoy a special adventure book that Wizards of the Coast designed specifically for this set in order to help facilitate some memorable Dungeons and Dragons campaigns. Titled Red Dragon's Tale, the booklet will be available as a free digital download, with the Danish toymaker also planning on offering a paperback edition while supplies last, priced at 2,700 Lego Insiders points. Amassing that amount of loyalty points will require spending $415 on LEGO products.

This unique set is far from the only way in which Wizards of the Coasts intends to commemorate its cult-classic tabletop game's 50th anniversary. The company is also planning on releasing half a dozen new Dungeons and Dragons Core Rulebooks meant to help further modernize the game. The first of that batch, Player's Handbook, is scheduled to hit the market on September 17, followed by Dungeon Master's Guide on November 12. Beyond that, Monster Manual and Vecna: Eve of Ruin are set for release on February 18 and May 21, 2025, respectively.
