Announced during Summer Game Fest, LEGO Horizon Adventures takes PlayStation's robot dinosaur-hunting, post-apocalyptic first-party exclusive series and distills it down into a fun, family-friendly co-op action-platformer. Though LEGO and Horizon aren't an immediately obvious pairing, the trailers released so far for LEGO Horizon Adventures do paint the collaboration in a good light, with the game seemingly capturing the series' unique combat well while injecting plenty of trademark LEGO charm into the formula.

Soon after its initial reveal, previews for LEGO Horizon Adventures started to hit the internet, most of which praised the game for its light-hearted humor and unique take on the source material. Set for release in Holiday 2024, LEGO Horizon Adventures looks like it'll be a really fun time, and if it ends up being a success, it'll likely only be the tip of the iceberg of LEGO and PlayStation's collaboration.

LEGO Horizon Adventures may be taking the tried-and-true LEGO formula to one of Sony's biggest franchises, but it might be facing some challenges.

Other PlayStation Exclusives That Could Make Great LEGO Games

A LEGO Ratchet and Clank Game

An obvious next step for LEGO and PlayStation's collaboration, the Ratchet and Clank series is a perfect fit for a LEGO video game adaptation, arguably being an even more logical fit than Horizon. Already a family-friendly action-platformer franchise, a Ratchet and Clank LEGO adaptation wouldn't have to think outside the box too much. Instead, a LEGO Ratchet and Clank game would simply need to double down on what both brands do best by focusing on the game's humor and vibrant visuals, along with some engaging third-person shooting mechanics and a bevy of unconventional weapons.

A LEGO Uncharted Game

Much like LEGO Horizon Adventures, an Uncharted LEGO game would need a little work to adapt all of the franchise's key features, but there are plenty of blueprints already there for LEGO to use. The two LEGO Indiana Jones games already lay some strong foundations for an Uncharted LEGO adaptation, and games like LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga prove that more open-ended levels can work well in a LEGO game. Much like Ratchet and Clank, humor is already a key part of Uncharted's identity, which makes the series a decent fit for a LEGO adaptation.

A LEGO God of War Game

At the other end of the spectrum, a God of War LEGO game could work surprisingly well if it leaned all the way into the absurd nature of the hypothetical collaboration. A series renowned for its extreme violence and gore, a God of War LEGO game could derive a lot of humor from that core part of its identity by parodying the absurd pairing of the two unlikely partners. Seeing a little LEGO Kratos decapitate and maim his way through hordes of minifigure enemies would be bizarre and tonally jarring, and that absurdity could pave the way for a lot of humor.

A LEGO Ghost of Tsushima Game

While violence plays a key role in Ghost of Tsushima's narrative and gameplay, a LEGO adaptation could remain authentic by choosing to hone in on a different part of Ghost of Tsushima's identity: its setting and atmosphere. Based on the trailers released so far, LEGO Horizon Adventures' visuals look rather impressive, and there's clearly been a lot of effort put into capturing the look and feel of Horizon's world. A Ghost of Tsushima LEGO game could distinguish itself by really focusing on the beauty of Ghost of Tsushima's setting, and how that ties into the series' overall identity.
