During this year's Summer Game Fest, players got a glimpse of LEGO Horizon Adventures, which brings a lighthearted and jovial twist to the Horizon franchise. To the surprise of many, the game isn't a PlayStation exclusive. Instead, it'll be available on PC and the Nintendo Switch alongside PS5.

During the trailer, Aloy was seen hunting a few machines. Though this probably isn't all the machines that'll be present in the game, the trailer gives players a good idea of what to expect. It appears that LEGO Horizon Adventures will have many of the same machines found in the mainstream Horizon games.

List of Machines in LEGO Horizon Adventures

The following machines make an appearance in the LEGO Horizon Adventures trailer.

  • Thunderjaw: The Thunderjaw is a large, ferocious machine that looks like a T-Rex. It is capable of shooting deadly lasers.
  • Watcher: The Watcher is a small, one-eyed machine. It is one of the easier machines to take down.
  • Broadhead: Broadheads are medium-sized, cow-like machines that can be quite aggressive when provoked.
  • Sawtooth: The Sawtooth is a Combat Class machine that resembles a saber-tooth tiger. The feline machine should not be taken lightly.
  • Scrapper: Scrappers can be found recycling resources. They resemble a hyena, and tend to be aggressive.
  • Shell-Walker: The Shell-Walker is a Transport Class machine that resembles a crab. It carries a hexagonal container of resources on its back.
  • Sunwing: The Sunwing is one of the few flying machines. It resembles a pterosaur, and Aloy can ride them in Horizon Forbidden West.
  • Tallneck: The Tallneck is a majestic Horizon machine that looks like a giraffe. It is oblivious to its surroundings and isn't hostile to humans. Aloy climbs up Tallnecks to get a better view of the land and update her map.

Machines in LEGO Form

It's quite suitable for machines to take on LEGO form. In the mainstream Horizon games, machines are made up of components that Aloy knocks off with her bow and arrow. It appears that in LEGO Horizon Adventures, the same will occur, except the components will be made of LEGO blocks.

Machines in the Horizon Franchise

Machines weren't always hostile in the Horizon franchise. Things changed when the Derangement set in, and HEPHAESTUS, one of GAIA's subordinate functions, began creating hostile machines. This forced the human tribes to build weapons to protect themselves against machines.

Aloy proves herself to be a particularly good machine hunter, and she has taken on massive machines including Slitherfangs and Tremortusks. In the LEGO Horizon Adventures trailer, Aloy is up against machines again, but she has some help from her friend Varl. This suggests the events of LEGO Horizon Adventures take place before the events of Horizon Forbidden West.

There are still a few questions that surround the upcoming game, including what the plot is and what weapons Aloy will be wielding. LEGO Horizon Adventures is set to release during the holiday season in 2024. Before then, players will hopefully see more of the machines in the game and more of Aloy and her companions in action.

LEGO Horizon Adventures gives Guerrilla Games' Horizon post-apocalyptic universe a brick-themed makeover. While Aloy takes center stage, the game does not have to be a solo ride and supports co-op.
