LEGO games have been around for a few decades now, and in that time, it's created some of the greatest family-friendly games ever made. From the original LEGO Star Wars to the most recent entry LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, LEGO's licensed offerings have always been a great way to spend a few relaxed hours. But while LEGO's licensed titles are still fondly remembered today, its non-licensed games aren't discussed quite as much. But that won't stop LEGO 2K Goooal! from eventually releasing.

LEGO 2K Goooal! is allegedly a LEGO soccer game coming from Sumo Digital and 2K, and while it may not have been officially announced yet, it's one of 2K's worst-kept secrets of the last year. With a slew of leaks and rumors sprouting up about the game every few months, it doesn't seem like a matter of if, but when for LEGO 2K Goooal!, and if the leaks are true, then that when could be very soon indeed.

Every LEGO 2K Goooal! Leak So Far

LEGO 2K Goooal!

The very first news about LEGO 2K Goooal! came about all the way back in February 2022. In a Video Games Chronicle exclusive report, it was revealed that 2K had apparently secured the rights to create a handful of LEGO sports games, the first of which was allegedly set to be a soccer game developed by Sumo Digital, the same studio behind the recently released Texas Chain Saw Massacre game and 2020's Sackboy: A Big Adventure. This report stated that an open-world driving game being developed by Visual Concepts would also be released, which ended up being LEGO 2K Drive. This report stated that this LEGO soccer game would release at the end of 2022, coinciding with the FIFA World Cup.

Of course, that never happened, but that was far from the last time fans heard about LEGO 2K Goooal!. Around the same time as the initial VGC report, a leak for a LEGO promotional polybag also hit the internet. This polybag contained a soccer mascot called Finnius Dash, and had the 2K logo in the corner of the product, seemingly hinting that this would be a promotional item for LEGO 2K Goooal!, much like any other polybag that's come with special editions of previous LEGO games, like the one for LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens and the Blue Milk Luke polybag in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga's deluxe edition.

LEGO 2K Goooal! wouldn't make another appearance until June 2023, when Gematsu spotted a listing for the game on the Korean rating board, confirming its presumably official title. Just a month later, LEGO 2K Goooal! appeared yet again, this time separately on both a Taiwanese and South African rating board. Interestingly, at the same time as this, the South African rating board also listed a Borderlands: Pandora's Box collection, which has just been shadow-dropped following an official announcement.

The most recent LEGO 2K Goooal! leak came at the end of July, when the game briefly appeared on Amazon UK. Though no image was given, this listing slated the game's release date as September 15 and confirmed that the game would be coming to just about every platform, including previous-gen consoles and the Nintendo Switch. This Amazon listing also claimed that the PS5 version of LEGO 2K Goooal! would be £37.40, though this seems a little low considering that LEGO 2K Drive initially retailed for £49.99 on the same platform. The listing was, of course, removed soon after it was spotted. Though no official word has been given, all signs are pointing to LEGO 2K Goooal!'s imminent reveal and potentially imminent release.

LEGO 2K Goooal! is reportedly in development.
