The first major LEGO game from 2K is on the horizon, and it looks like it is going to be a lot of fun. LEGO 2K Drive will be bringing the LEGO world to the racing scene for a frantic adventure. It will give players the thrill of building their own cars, and then let them race them through an open-world Bricklandia offline or online. If LEGO 2K Drive is a success then it will hopefully lead to even more games like it, and one of the best ways to ensure that success is by filling it with crossovers.

LEGO has created toys and video games based on a plethora of different properties, and it would be a missed opportunity if 2K did not tap those franchises. LEGO 2K Drive has the potential to be the biggest crossover game of all time. While not every property would fit, there are loads of LEGO lines that would feel right at home in this open-world racer.

LEGO DC and Marvel Super Heroes

Iron Man, Hulk, Thor ,Spiderman, Captain America, Wolverine, The Thing, Mr Fantastic, Black Widow, The Human Torch, and The Silver Surfer prepare for battle in front of a city skyline

One of the most obvious choices for a LEGO 2K Drive crossover would be the DC and Marvel lines. LEGO has pumped out many different sets featuring some of the world's most iconic heroes, and Traveller's Tales has brought players on numerous original adventures through both IPs. This has led to some of the best superhero games around, and these characters would fit perfectly into an open-world racer.

LEGO 2K Drive could feature characters from both IPs going head-to-head in wild races. Batman could drive the Batmobile against Deadpool in a food truck, Wonder Woman could race through the skies in her invisible jet against Iron Man's many sports cars, and even Thanos could join the fun in his Thanos-copter. While players will likely build some of these vehicles with LEGO 2K Drive's building mechanics, those creations would not be complete without iconic heroes behind the wheel.

LEGO Disney

Marvel and DC offer LEGO 2K Drive a vast catalog of racers to choose from, but a full-on Disney crossover could give the game even more to work with. The LEGO Group has made a lot of LEGO sets based on various Disney films, and Traveller's Tales made a whole LEGO Incredibles video game. While TT Games supposedly canceled a LEGO Disney project because of the success of Disney Dreamlight Valley, that success will hopefully not prevent 2K from taking on some of the most popular Disney characters.

Exploring Disney's catalog would let 2K add some of the most iconic film characters to the mix. Aladdin could race on a LEGO magic carpet, the Incredibles could cruise through the streets in their Incredibile, all the cars from the Cars franchise could be worthy opponents, and the studio could even create unique cars for every Disney princess. There is a ton of potential if Disney allows it, but games like Disney Dreamlight Valley and Disney Speedstorm may prevent it from happening.

LEGO Star Wars

The LEGO Star Wars line is one of LEGOs most successful themes, and the IP is also one of TT Games' most popular series. It would only make sense that Star Wars characters and vehicles would crop up in LEGO 2K Drive. The franchise seems like a LEGO mainstay, and the characters would all be perfect for a racing game. While there is a chance these characters will be relegated to Disney Speedstorm, they seem like they have to be included in this LEGO racer.

Lots of Star Wars characters already have their own iconic ships, and those ships could be used as their race cars. Players will likely imitate these ships in LEGO 2K Drive, but letting the Star Wars characters actually drive them would make it so much better. Adding these characters should make LEGO 2K Drive the crossover racing game to end all crossovers, and hopefully 2K delivers on that promise.

LEGO 2K Drive releases on May 19 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
