Riot Games’ free-to-play digital collectable card game Legends of Runeterra has made quite the name for itself this year. The game has cultivated a dedicated playerbase, and has even turned out to be one of the highest-rated games of 2020, holding a score of 88 on OpenCritic.

Since its release in April, the game has received numerous updates that have added new content and tweaked aspects of the experience. Now, Riot has released the full patch notes for Legends of Runeterra’s 1.15 update, and there are a whole list of interesting changes made alongside the addition of holiday representation.

The first notable addition is the brand new Recursive Heroes 101 lab. This lab will help new players build basic decks surrounding singular champions of the builder's choice, such as Jinx, Shyvana, and Gangplank. The patch also makes a change to Runeterra’s round time, which should help to smooth out match pacing and clean up the timer’s UI. Additionally, Legends of Runeterra’s seasonal tournaments are on the way, and the patch adds a new Tournament tab where players can check their progress.

The 1.15 update also brings new personalization options to Runeterra, as players can now customize the game board to have a holiday theme. The theme is complete with Christmas lights, presents, and an ice-covered game board. Finally, the patch made some changes to player profiles, added a new holiday-themed card back to the store, and refined the offerings available in expeditions. Legends of Runeterra’s 1.15 update brings a lot of adjustments to Riot’s card game, potentially cementing its place as one of the best mobile games of 2020.

Legends of Runeterra is available now on PC, iOS, and Android.
