Evelynn was an extremely niche and unique addition to the Champion Pool of Legends of Runeterra. Her synergy with most other Champions is lackluster and she isn't powerful enough to be played as a Mono type deck since she doesn't have the power to win games on her own. However, there are a couple of Champions that she works relatively well with.

With Keyword effects becoming more prominent in the Metagame, it's the randomness of her Keywords, which holds her back from being an extremely powerful pick. When combined with the right Champions, Evelynn can surprisingly be quite devastating and this guide will show players what they need to have and do in order to win with her.

Evelynn & Viego

Legends of Runeterra Viego
  • Glimpse Beyond x2
  • Hate Spike x3
  • Sultur x3
  • Vile Feast x3
  • Black Spear x2
  • Camavaron Soldier x3
  • Vora x3
  • Camavoran Dragon x1
  • Evelynn x3
  • Neverglade Collector x2
  • Withering Wail x2
  • Vengeance x2
  • Viego x3
  • Atrocity x2
  • Invasive Hydravine x3
  • The Rekindler x2

This deck revolves around the concept of triggering Viego's buffs and leveling up as quickly as possible as its win condition. However, there are multiple win conditions in this deck, such as Invasive Hydravine, the Encroaching Mists themselves, or even The Rekindler. With Evelynn being able to spawn a Husk Card every turn, along with Invasive Hydravine summoning Encroaching Mists, Viego, and his mists can become very powerful in a short duration. Players who are lucky enough to get the Spellshield Husk for Viego will make it even harder for their enemies to take him down. Viego decks always struggled to find ways to consistently make something on their field die without putting themselves too far behind in tempo.

In most games, even if Viego is taken down, players will have Encroaching Mists from Invasive Hydravine sitting at over 7 power with ease. The Rekindler is even there as a safeguard to bring Viego back and can even let players have 2 Viegos on the field at once, which shouldn't be possible under normal circumstances. Evelynn is a solid unit on her own and has one of the easiest ways to Level up out of every Champion Card in the game, allowing her to be a 6/6 as quickly as turn 4. There aren't any monsters in the game that can match that power on turn 4, making her an Early Game threat on her own.

The downside to this deck is if players aren't lucky enough to get their Viego or Evelynn early on, they will find themselves struggling to win the game. It takes quite a while to get the Encroaching Mists ramping up, but once they get started ramping up consistently, they're nearly impossible to stop. This makes the deck extremely susceptible to Aggro based decks since they can be rushed down before having the time they need to set up for Viego.

Evelynn & Kai'Sa

Legends of Runeterra Evelynn
  • Rite of Calling x1
  • Voidling x3
  • Belvethi Elder x3
  • Preservarium x3
  • Sultur x3
  • The Absolver x2
  • Ancient Hourglass x1
  • Domination x3
  • Merciless Hunter x3
  • Quicksand x2
  • Vora x3
  • Evelynn x3
  • Rite of Negation x2
  • Kai'Sa x3
  • Hive Herald x1
  • Steem x2
  • Void Abomination x2

This deck revolves around getting Kai'Sa hard-to-find Keywords as quickly as possible through Evelynn and her followers' Husks. Getting Keywords such as Regeneration, Fated, Scout, and Challenger can help Kai'Sa evolve more quickly. This deck also has Void Abomination as its 2nd win condition, since it gets every Keyword that was used by the player throughout the entirety of the game. This card, combined with Kai'Sa and Kai'Sa's Second Skin is usually an automatic win if the enemy can't stop the following attack. Evelynn herself is strong enough to hold down the Early Game while providing Kai'Sa another Keyword to use every turn that passes.

The Overwhelm effect also works extremely well with Kai'Sa, allowing her to push for huge amounts of damage each turn. Domination can provide players with small, yet sometimes game-changing stat buffs if she can get on the field early enough. Her synergy with Evelynn, buffs her Husks, to 1/2 instead of 0/1, and the stats go directly to whichever card absorbs the Husks.

The downside of this deck is, RNG (Random Number Generator) plays a big role in what Keywords players will get. Therefore, if all of the husks continuously give the same Keywords or Keywords the player has already gotten, Kai'Sa will have a much harder time evolving. Void Abomination costs 9 Mana to play, which means even though he is another win condition, games don't always go to turn 9, and if he is in the player's starting hand, it can brick the play potential of other cards. If the enemy can easily dispose of Evelynn, getting Keywords will become even harder for Kai'Sa and if Kai'Sa can't evolve, players will most likely lose the game.
