Once players are finished with the lengthy tutorial for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, they will find themselves back on solid ground and exploring the vast region of Hyrule. Although the landscape is somewhat unchanged from the calamity, new regional phenomena are popping up all over the world. During his investigation into these issues, Link will once again find himself traveling to Zora's Domain.
This time, the Zora find themselves covered in a strange goo that seems to be flowing from the sky. The toxic substance is clogging the waterways and creating an uninhabitable space for the aquatic race. To find the source of the gunk, Link must follow a series of rumors, including one that King Dorephan has gone into hiding. Unfortunately, it seems that none of the residents know where King Dorephan is. Here's how to find King Dorephan in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Updated August 31st, 2023: Players will be tasked with finding King Dorephan in TOTK during Sidon's quest line. Unfortunately, findingKing Dorephan in Tears of the Kingdom can be a bit tricky for players who don't know where to look. How To Overhear The King Dorephan Rumor In Tears Of The Kingdom
The only denizens that seem to have a lead on King Dorephan's whereabouts are a small group of Zora children that are gossiping near the top of Zora's Domain, near the fountain throne at the top of the Domain itself. Unfortunately, if Link gets close to them, they will shoo him away. In order to hear what they are talking about, players must eavesdrop on their conversation.
The easiest way to do this is to go around, behind the fountain, and climb up the back of it, dipping into the water and carefully wading over to the edge closest to the huddling Zora children. This should put Link in a position to listen in on the conversation, which will give a clue about "an area flowing with pristine waters."
Where To Find King Dorephan In Tears Of The Kingdom
The kids will give Link a general area to search, which is supposedly a waterfall somewhere between Zora's Domain and Ploymus Mountain. Thankfully, there aren't too many waterfalls in this area and the one that players are looking for specifically is at the Northeast of Zora's Domain, just to the right of the words "Mikau Lake" on the map. Players will need to head to this area and swim into the waterfall at base level to enter the hidden Pristine Sanctum.
Unfortunately, to reach King Dorephan himself, players will need access to the Zora Armor Chestpiece, which will allow them to traverse the hidden waterfall inside the sanctum itself.
