There's something immensely satisfying about solving a challenging puzzle, particularly when doing so without any hints or clues. However, some puzzles can prove to be just a little too tricky, which may well end up being the case for some The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom players when it comes to the game's Riogok Shrine.

Centered around the idea of force transfer, The Riogok Shrine is one of the more difficult shrines in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, particularly for those who are still getting used to using Link's Ultrahand ability. However, with a little bit of thought and a good grasp of physics, solving the Riogok Shrine isn't actually all that difficult.

Riogok Shrine Location

The Riogok Shrine can be found in Hyrule Field due south of the Tsutsu-um Shrine. It's quite high up, so players should be prepared for a bit of climbing, particularly when approaching the shrine from the north. Alternatively, to cut down on climbing, Tears of the Kingdom players can approach the Riogok Shrine from the east, from the Hopper Pond area. The coordinates for the Riogok Shrine are -1443, -1616, 0089.

Riogok Shrine Walkthrough

Upon entering the Riogok Shrine, players should use Link's Ultrahand ability to grab the white cylinder from the ground and then position it so that it connects the teeth of the two gears above them. Once in place, they should attach the cylinder to the gears by pressing the A button and then hit the orange glowing pillar to their right with a melee attack to activate the gear on the right and open up the path ahead.

Players should avoid removing the white cylinder connecting the two gears after opening the gate. Doing so while on the other side of the gate will result in them getting stuck inside the shrine, forcing them to fast travel their way back outside.

In this next room, players should grab the white cylinder and attach it to the broken lever on the right side of the room. The aim here is to attach it in a way that will allow them to pull the switch from right to left. They can do this by grabbing the cylinder with Ultrahand after it has been attached or simply attaching the cylinder vertically and allowing gravity to do the rest. Either way, pulling the switch to the left will open up the nearby gate, allowing players to grab yet another white cylinder.

Before heading for the shrine's statue, players may want to grab the shrine's chest, which can be found high up on a ledge in the back right-hand corner of the room and contains a Mighty Construct Bow. There are a few different ways to do this, but by far the simplest is to attach the two cylinders together end to end and then attach the end of one of them to the chest itself. This will allow them to pull the chest down from the ledge and open it up on the ground.

Once they've opened the chest, players should detach the two cylinders by grabbing the one with the chest attached to it and shaking the right analog stick until the three items come apart. They should then attach one of the cylinders horizontally to the bottom of the white platform on the left wall, which, if done correctly, will cause it to catch on the nearby gear and lift the platform as the gear turns. Players should then attach the other cylinder to the top of the same platform vertically so that when it rises, it pushes the platform above it up.

From here, it's a simple case of using Link's Ascend ability to get on top of the higher of the two platforms and then waiting. Eventually, the gear will turn and push the bottom platform up, which, thanks to the second cylinder, should raise the top platform as well. Players can then jump and grab onto the ledge above them, allowing them to interact with the shrine's statue and claim yet another valuable Light of Blessing.
