Many of the shrines in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom provide players with a safe space to work on solving the puzzles at hand. This isn't always the case though, with certain shrines in Tears of the Kingdom surrounding the player with dangerous environmental hazards, from bottomless pits to scorching hot lava streams.

The Timawak Shrine is an example of the latter, with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom players needing to cross several streams of molten magma to reach their goal. In order to do so safely, they'll have to create their own moving platforms using water, then find ways to propel those platforms toward the Shrine's statue room.

Timawak Shrine is in the Eldin Canyon area to the north of the Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower. It's to the south of the Goron Hot Springs and southwest of death mountain. The best way to reach it is from the air, with players able to glide there from the region's Skyview Tower in less than sixty seconds. For those having trouble pinpointing its exact location, though, the coordinates for the Timawak Shrine are 1800,1641, 0311.

To complete the Timawak Shrine, players will need to cross several streams of lava. The first one is relatively easy to pass, with a nearby water source creating platforms that players can walk right across. In the next area, players will need to kill a Soldier Construct, after which, they should locate the platform with the ball on it. By using Link's Recall ability, they'll be able to rewind the momentum of the lava platforms coming toward them to make their way across.

From here, it's possible to create new floating platforms by firing Splash Fruit arrows into the lava. If players create one near the chest and then use Recall on it once it gets close to them, they'll be able to ride it over to the chest and claim the Strong Zonaite Shield inside. After that, they should head back over to the platform with the ball on it, throw the ball into the lava behind them, and then ride one of the oncoming platforms back to where they started. As soon as they're back on solid land, they'll want to grab the ball with Ultrahand and then drop it in the nearby hole to unlock the door.

In the final room of the Timawak Shrine, players will have to cross a huge body of lava. To do so, they'll first need to place one of the fans flat on the ground pointing upward and then activate it. Next, they should jump into the wind created by the fan and use Link's Paraglider to get up onto the nearby ledge with the two hydrants on it. Once activated, these hydrants spew water, which players can use to create new platforms in the lava. If they attach a fan to one of these platforms, they'll be able to ride it across the lava like a boat and complete the Timawak Shrine.
