Update 14.12 introduces significant changes to several League of Legends champions, including Aatrox, whose health regeneration growth has decreased while his armor growth has increased. His E healing is reduced and no longer increased during World Ender, but his R increased healing has seen a notable boost. These modifications aim to solidify Aatrox as a heavy frontliner with enhanced self-healing. Other champions receiving updates include Akali, Akshan, Ashe, Blitzcrank, Ezreal, Karma, Master Yi, Nilah, Rek'Sai, Skarner, Talon, Tryndamere, Twisted Fate, Viktor, Vladimir, Yone, and Yuumi. Each of these champions has been tweaked to address balance issues and improve the gameplay experience.

Item adjustments in this patch focus on smoothing build paths and ensuring competitive balance. Lord Dominik’s Regards now has a more accessible build path, and Statikk Shiv’s recipe has been altered to facilitate its adoption into more champion builds. Additionally, Void Staff and Serylda’s Grudge receive buffs to make them more attractive options for mages and bursty casters. Runes also see changes, with First Strike’s flat gold and damage amplification reduced to find a better balance. Updated recommended rune pages for champions like Yone, Seraphine, and Talon have been introduced to enhance performance with optimal setups.

In addition to gameplay changes, the patch expands the already extensive League of Legends skin list with Immortalized Legend Ahri, Risen Legend Ahri, Risen Legend LeBlanc, and Crystalis Indomitus Xerath. These skins add a fresh aesthetic layer to the game, offering players more customization options. Some of these skins are part of the Hall of Legends event, a highlight of this patch, featuring special in-game content and cosmetics commemorating top player Faker’s illustrious career.

QoL Changes

  • We are changing the way we display ‘successful' ability casts. We used to display success cases such as Aatrox's sweet spot hits using the critical strike symbol, but it caused confusion since it was not an actual critical strike. Going forward we will be using a different icon to signal these kinds of situations.

Bugfixes

  • Fixed a bug with Syndra's Scatter the Weak (E) where it can move Rek'Sai's Tunnel (E), causing the Tunnel to move. In case you weren't familiar, tunnels are not actually movable objects.
  • Fixed a bug with Syndra's Scatter the Weak (E) where it can damage Gwen inside her Hallowed Mist (W).
  • Fixed a bug that caused Viego to receive the base version of an item if he possessed a champion with an Ornn upgraded item.
  • Fixed a bug that caused Viego to permanently lose his Masterwork Item upgrade upon Possessing another champion.
  • Fixed a bug that caused Sundered Sky to not proc on Rengar's empowered leaps.
