By doing so, this fan brings together two worlds in gaming that many could never have imagined would ever cross paths. Although Hogwarts Legacy has yet to be officially released, some are already getting creative with its features.
Ever since The Last of Us was released nearly ten years ago, many fans have dubbed Ellie as one of their favorite characters to grace the world of video games. With the adoration Ellie has gotten through the years, there have been a variety of ways fans of her character and story have paid tribute to her. From amazing art to creating mods placing Ellie from The Last of Us in other games, she remains one of the most iconic characters in modern gaming.
One devoted fan of Ellie's character recently decided to recreate her likeness while playing the early access of the highly anticipated Hogwarts Legacy, the new action RPG that takes place in the world of Harry Potter. Although there's a variety of different things to do in Hogwarts Legacy, a particular fan known as Shoni89 on Reddit wanted to spend a little extra time with the character builder in order to bring Ellie to the iconic Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Based on the picture Shoni89 shared on the official The Last of Us subreddit, the resemblance is pretty uncanny, and Shoni89 did a fantastic job capturing Ellie's likeness.
With over three-thousand upvotes at the time of this writing, it seems as though many other fans agree. Many who have been eager for the game's release have been waiting to create their own unique characters in Hogwarts Legacy, but Shoni89's recreation shows that even beloved characters from other games can be brought into the magical halls of Hogwarts. Having an eye for detail and a lot of patience to find the correct character attributes, many will have the possibility to play as their favorite characters from other games.
Even though the game hasn't reached its official release date yet, Hogwarts Legacy is already an incredibly successful game this year. When the game officially releases on February 10, there's no telling what clever fans will think of and discover while playing the game. From paying homage to favorite characters from other game titles to even recreating iconic characters from the Harry Potter series, it will be exciting to see what gamers come up with once the game is available to all.
Hogwarts Legacy will release for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on February 10, and is scheduled to release for PS4 and Xbox One on April 4, and Nintendo Switch on July 25.
