When players reach the Seattle Day 1 chapter of The Last of Us 2, they will encounter a multi-part puzzle that they must solve in order to open a gate for Dina and Shimmer. To do this, fans will need to both locate a gate code and power a specific terminal, and this means that there are a variety of different ways to get stuck on this gate puzzle in TLoU2. Fortunately, this can all be solved quite easily with just a bit of instruction, and indeed that instruction can be found below.

The first step to opening the main gate in The Last of Us 2's Seattle Day 1 chapter is to find a sheet with several different codes scrawled upon it. This sheet is located in a drawer inside of the small building that is directly across from the tower that players climb down, and the main gate password is 0512. However, the door to this building is locked, and fans will need to break the window in order to climb inside.

Once a player has reached the building's interior, they can then remove the list of gate codes from the drawer that is very near to the window that they just broke. With this in hand, TLoU2 fans should exit out of the back of this building, turn right by a generator, and unlock the gate that they encounter. They should then start the generator that they just went by and pickup the yellow cord that is extending from it.

This cord should then be taken through the now-unlocked gate and inserted into the terminal that is just to the left. Players can then press the red button in the box below the terminal to open another gate, which they should then go through to reach the main gate. Here fans should slide upon the small slot in the gate to trigger a brief conversation between Ellie and Dina.

Now the player should return to the yellow cord and carry it back to the generator where they picked it up initially. They should then toss the cord over the fence directly next to the generator and then run around to the other side to pick it up once more. The cord can then be taken up the few nearby steps to be plugged into another terminal, and this will allow players to finally open the main gate in TLoU2's Seattle Day 1 chapter.

To perform this final step, fans should simply go around to the front of the building where the cord was just plugged in and go inside to find a keyboard and a red button with the words "Main Gate" printed above it. Players can then input the main gate code (0512) that is written at the top of the sheet that they obtained earlier and continue on their way through the rest of The Last of Us 2's main story.
