Rogues are agile fighters who deal high damage at the expense of survivability. In Last Epoch, they fill the role of the archer/thief archetype, fighting hordes of monsters with bows and blades alike.

Last Epoch: How To Find Immortal Eyes

In this guide, we'll tell you everything you need to know about Immortal Eyes in Last Epoch, including where to look for them.

The following is a versatile, low-level Rogue build designed to help players get used to how the class plays without sacrificing overall power. It's low-risk and easy-to-use, and it serves as a good base for future builds as players continue their journey to reach Last Epoch's endgame content.

Last Epoch Rogue Leveling Build Skills

Early game Rogue in combat in Last Epoch

This build relies on applying and stacking damage-over-time ailments to melt everything that stands in your way, from the largest of monster packs to the toughest of bosses. Players can reach the starting point of this Rogue build as soon as they hit level 6, and they can continue using it until they decide otherwise. The setup works with both ranged and melee weapons — the former offers better AoE, while the latter can potentially deal more upfront damage. The two major skills for this build are:

Puncture

Skill tree for the Rogue Puncture ability in Last Epoch
  • Perforate: Puncture gains increased chance to inflict Bleed.
  • Bloodthirst: Hitting at least one enemy with a direct use of Puncture grants a stack of Bleeding Fury, which increases your chance to inflict Bleed. This stacks up to three times.
  • Press The Attack: Using and hitting at least one enemy with Puncture grants Frenzy, increasing your attack and cast speeds.
  • Cadence of Death: Every third cast of Puncture deals more damage and hits over a wider area.

Puncture will pierce through all targets in a straight line, and this works with both melee and ranged weapons. It doesn't attack as quickly as Flurry, but its ability to stack tons of Bleed stacks makes it much deadlier, especially when used with the right gear.

Shift

Shift skill tree for Rogues in Last Epoch
  • Velocity: Shortens cooldown and reduces mana cost.
  • Hypovolemia: Next non-channeled damaging skill after Shift has increased chance to inflict Bleed.
  • Jagged Cuts: Next non-channeled damaging skill after Shift has longer Bleed duration and gains more Physical penetration with Bleed.
  • Critical Opening: The next non-channeled attack after using Shift is guaranteed to critically strike.

Apart from being a solid traversal skill, Shift also boosts Puncture's effectiveness by further improving its ability to inflict Bleed while also providing guaranteed critical hits. Use this ability to get out of harm's way or to breeze through maps as you try to clear Last Epoch's lengthy campaign.

Acid Flask in Last Epoch
  • Acid Flask: An excellent skill for stacking even more DoT on enemies. It works perfectly well on its own, and it complements Puncture by inflicting Poison and reducing enemy armor.
  • Shuriken: If you want to detonate Bleed stacks with Puncture's Mutilate passive, take Shuriken so you have an extra means of applying Bleed.
  • Ballista: These rudimentary sentry guns will shoot at anything within their range. Great for supplementing Puncture's damage.

Last Epoch: 7 Beginner Mistakes To Avoid

Let's be frank, it's very easy to get overwhelmed by information and mechanics in the Last Epoch. So, here are some early mistakes to avoid.

Passive Skills

Rogue fighting enemeis in Last Epoch
  • Swift Assassin (8/8): Gain bonus attack speed and Physical damage for your melee, throwing, and bow attacks.
  • Guile (1/8): Gain Dodge Rating and Poison Resistance.
  • Lethal Cadence: (5/5): Every third melee, throwing, or bow attack deals bonus damage.
  • Evasion (1/5): Take less damage while moving; gain increased Dodge Rating.
  • Agility (5/5): You have a chance to gain Haste for 1 second on-hit. Deal increased damage based on your movement speed.

This logic behind this passive skill setup is fairly standard. Swift Assassin and Lethal Cadence increase your DPS while the rest make you slightly harder to kill. If you want to use two one-handed weapons, you can dual wield in Last Epoch with this specific class by investing a skill point into the Twin Blade passive.

Gear and Stat Priorities

Chance to Bleed Physical Damage Critical Hit Chance Critical Hit Multiplier

Health Armor Resistances Damage Leeched as Health Dodge Rating Movement Speed

Bleed is your main DoT for this build, and that's what you'll want to focus on getting when sifting through loot. Last Epoch has a built-in loot filter that you can use to make things easier. Stack as much Physical Damage and Bleed Chance early on to maximize your DPS. Once you get enough crafting shards, put critical hit stats into your items to further increase your upfront damage.

Your choice of defensive stats depends on what weapon you're using. Melee Rogues should invest more into Armor and Dodge Rating to dampen incoming attacks, while Ranged Rogues should get more Dodge Rating and Movement Speed so they can walk away from danger. Regardless of what weapon you choose, always increase your Health and Resistances to avoid getting one-shot by enemies.

Which Mastery Class Should You Choose?

Bladedancer Rogue in Last Epoch

Due to the flexibility of this Rogue leveling build, players can choose any of the three mastery classes without losing much power, granted that they don't pivot too far away from the DoT-centric theme of the build. Bladedancers, for example, can swap Puncture out for Umbral Blades equipped with Bleed passives together with Synchronized Strike. Meanwhile, Marksmen and Falconeers can also spec into Bleed builds via their Dark Quiver/Hail of Arrows and Net/Dive Bomb skills respectively.
