Konami is currently on the lookout for new game developers to work on what is could be yet another entry in the soon-to-be-revived Silent Hill series. As one of the most celebrated franchises in the survival horror genre, fans have been hoping to return to the titular foggy town. With the loss of the Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro project, there's been little certainty about the future of the psychological horror games, though leaks and speculations had been doing the rounds for quite some time.Fortunately, concerns were alleviated recently when Konami announced a bunch of upcoming Silent Hill projects, which include some new entries, an official remake of the second game, an interactive experience, and another movie. Essentially, the series is well and truly being bought back to life after years of doubt, and fans will have plenty to look forward to. However, it looks like there's another one in the pipeline.RELATED: Silent Hill: Townfall Reportedly Being Built With Unreal Engine 5As spotted by The Gamer, Konami itself is hiring for what appears to be an unannounced Silent Hill game. A recruitment listing shows the company is currently on the lookout for a producer, assistant producer, project manager, game director, and others. Indeed, one of the job posts states that candidates must have a "passion and interest in horror games." The job listings were accompanied by a tweet from the studio itself which mentions "the Silent Hill series" as part of the callout for "game creators."

What's interesting about these development positions is that it's Konami itself doing the hiring, suggesting a new SH game possibly being made in-house, as opposed to the already announced projects which are being developed by other studios. For years, there were rumors that Konami was working on new Silent Hill projects, so the possible addition of another one shows that the company is interested in telling more stories set in or around the haunted town. According to known leaker AestheticGamer1, Konami might be looking to "follow in Resident Evil's footsteps," which could explain all the games and other projects that have been discussed. No details about what this unannounced installment will be called or any possible story, so hopefully Konami will give further details soon.

Among everything that was announced, Bloober Team's remake of Silent Hill 2 is likely the one that many will be looking forward to most. The original 2001 release is hailed as a masterpiece of the genre. With its disturbing atmosphere and skillful storytelling, SH2 has gone down as one of the greatest horror games of all time. Here's hoping Bloober is able to do a modern iteration of it some justice.

Multiple Silent Hill projects are currently in development.
