Komi Can't Communicate was a huge success when it premiered in 2021, standing as one of Netflix's trending anime when it was first released. The coming-of-age anime is based on the manga by Hitohito Oda of the same name. The series follows Shoko Komi, an elegant yet incredibly shy high school student who desperately wants to make friends. She appears to never speak to any of her fellow schoolmates and comes off as cold to them. She then meets Hitohito Tadano, an average boy who seems to blend well into the background. With Tadano's help, Komi seeks to make 100 friends, which comes with its own surprises.

A preview did premiere before this trailer, which touched on a few moments in the new season. The new trailer introduces many new developments, notably Komi and Tadano's relationship. New characters will also be featured in season 2, like new additions to Komi's friend group, such as Shisuto Naruse and Chushaku Kometani. Shisuto is a narcissist who is enamored with Komi, and Chushaku is an obsessive note-taker. Makoto Katai, another shy character more on the rebellious side, is also featured in the trailer.

New voice actors were also announced alongside the new characters. Naruse will be voiced by Katsuyuki Miura (SD Gundam World Heroes) and Kometani will be played by Shotaro Uzawa (Toilet-bound Hanako-kun). Two more new characters, Ayami Sasaski and Mikumi Kato, will be voiced by Minami Takahashi (Food Wars) and Fumiko Uchimura (The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter, respectively. It is confirmed that the season 1 cast will return for season 2.

As with the first season, season 2 will stream on Netflix. Season 2 is slated to premiere on 6 April 2022 in Japan. Those interested in reading the manga can read the translated English version which is available in North America via VIZ Media.
