Season 2 of Knockout City is right around the corner,  and with all of the excitement around the EA Play event, details have emerged for the next season of Velan Studios' over-the-top dodgeball multiplayer game. Season 2 appears to be based on the silver screen, and there is plenty of content around that cinema theme.

Recently Velan Studios unveiled the roadmap for Knockout City, which included a bit of Season 2 info and confirmation that Season 3 and 4 would release by the end of 2021. Knockout City first launched on May 21 for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch. With Season 1 coming to a close, the newest season is set to begin on July 27. Players can look forward to a new map, a new ball, new events, and more.

The highlight of Season 2: Fight at the Movies may be the theme itself, as players can experience Knockout City as if it were a night at the theater. Especially within a pandemic world, a cinema-themed season is certainly an intriguing and exciting choice. The newest map looks to allow players to battle it out in locations that look like anything from a children's bedroom to a cathedral, to a classic castle. There will also be a new Soda Ball, which seems to fizzle and pop as it bounces around the battleground.

Unsurprisingly, Season 2: Fight at the Movies comes with loads of new gear to mark the movie-based occasion as well. The reveal trailer showed off gowns that actors would wear on the red carpet, star gliders, a dragon-looking costume, and more. Players will want to bring their A-game to Knockout City Season 2, as there are also new playlists and a myriad of fresh rewards as well.

EA and Velan Studios' online dodgeball game has been a pretty big success so far, as Knockout City recently hit a big milestone with 5 million unique players. Ongoing support like this new season should only help the game continue to see new players jump on board. The roadmap that sees Knockout City supported through the end of the year with multiple seasons is a good look for both current fans and new ones, and the idea that each season has the opportunity to bring themes, maps, modes, gear, and more is very exciting. Based on the reception of the game and the player count, the core DNA of Knockout City is solid. Now it is up to Velan Studios to support its title moving forward in thrilling ways.

Knockout City is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
