During a recent Nintendo Direct, Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe revealed details about the new Magolor Epilogue along with announcing a playable demo for the game. Nintendo provided new info on a number of first-party games during this latest Nintendo Direct, including announcing a release date for Pikmin 4. However, while that game does not launch until later this summer, Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe is coming to the Switch in only a few more weeks.

Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe is a remake of the side-scrolling platformer first released on the Wii in 2011, and it appears to be coming to the Switch at the perfect time. Kirby and the Forgotten Land, another mainline Kirby game, has already sold very well on the system, providing the opportunity for this new remake to continue the series' success. While the new Deluxe version of this classic game includes most of the content from the original, it also introduces some new features.

As part of the latest Nintendo Direct, aired on February 8, HAL Laboratory gave fans another look at Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe. Specifically, the latest trailer for the game showcased a new story called Magolor Epilogue: The Interdimensional Traveler. The new content will be available to players after completing Story Mode and features the option for up to four-player co-op. According to the trailer, players take control of Magolor, the game's main antagonist, and must work to help him escape a realm between dimensions. However, he has lost his powers, meaning players will have to restore his abilities as they progress through the story.

In addition to this new story content, a demo for Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe was revealed, and it is available to download from the Nintendo eShop now. This gives players unsure about picking up the title a perfect opportunity to try it out before committing to a purchase. According to Nintendo, it is a “specially arranged demo” that allows up to four players to check out a series of stages and minigames from Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe.

It will be interesting to see what is in store for players in this remake of the classic Kirby game. While Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe will have to have a massive launch if it wants to match the success of Kirby and the Forgotten Land, the remake of the classic Wii game seems poised to do well on the Switch. Fortunately, players do not have much longer to wait to check out all the game has to offer, as it releases in only a couple of more weeks.

Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe releases on February 24, 2023, for Nintendo Switch.
