A leaked image of Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe suggests the Switch remaster of the popular 2D platformer may include a new epilogue stage. The newest adventure for Nintendo's iconic pink puffball comes as a remaster of the classic 2011 platformer from the Wii. Trailers for the game have already shown off a variety of new features, including several new Copy abilities and mini-games. Now, a supposed leak is teasing a new story segment for the platformer.

The remaster of Kirby's Return to Dream Land comes less than a year after the Kirby franchise welcomed its newest main-series game with the groundbreaking Kirby and the Forgotten Land. Forgotten Land saw massive changes made to the franchise's traditional formula, shifting Kirby into a 3D environment and adding an upgrade system for Kirby's Copy abilities. Kirby and the Forgotten Land was a huge success for HAL Laboratory, shattering franchise sales records within eight months of its release. Now, the return of a beloved Kirby title may come with a new epilogue.

A supposed leak of the back of Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe's box has suggested the remaster may feature a new epilogue story centered around the Magolor. The back of the box specifically highlights the new epilogue with two screenshots taken from the post-game story, inviting players to "brave a new quest" after the conclusion of the game's story. The teaser on the box art does not give any more details about the post-game story. Both HAL and Nintendo have yet to officially confirm the introduction of a new epilogue within the Kirby remaster.

The addition of an epilogue to Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe would join a plethora of new and upgraded features in the Switch remake. Trailers and teasers have already shown off several new Copy abilities, including the Sand ability creating different attacks with sand and the Mecha ability suiting Kirby up in a mech suit. The mini-games will also reportedly see upgrades in the remake with the Samurai mini-game adding an online multiplayer mode.

Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe joins a stacked lineup of Nintendo's biggest first-party franchises receiving new games in recent months. Fall saw the release of several major first-party games with Splatoon 3 and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet while Fire Emblem Engage launched earlier this month. The long-awaited The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is also slated to come later this year with a release date currently set for May 12th. Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe will look to follow in the footsteps of its predecessor when it debuts next month.

Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe is scheduled to release on February 24th for the Nintendo Switch.
