The classic multiplayer Game Boy Advance game, Kirby and the Amazing Mirror, is finally coming to the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack service later this September. The Nintendo Switch Online service has been adding tons of new titles for fans to try out from the publisher's diverse library. The service had recently added three classic titles for NSO subscribers at the start of September, which include previously Japan-exclusive titles like Joy Mech Fight and the SNES version of Kirby Star Stacker. The upgraded version of the service, the NSO Expansion Pack, has also been getting plenty of classic Nintendo 64 and Game Boy Advance titles, with the next title being Kirby and the Amazing Mirror.

When the NSO Expansion Pack was first announced, one of the titles that was shown off that would eventually be added to the service would be Kirby and the Amazing Mirror. Fans were extremely excited about this later addition, as it would help boost the game's primary selling point: the multiplayer. While many other GBA titles have been added to the Expansion Pack since its launch, some fans were eagerly anticipating when the multiplayer Kirby title would get its chance. A date for when Amazing Mirror will be coming to the service has finally been announced, coming near the end of September.

This was announced in a new trailer uploaded to Nintendo's social media accounts, where it revealed that this game will be added to the service on September 29, 2023. It also briefly goes over the story and gameplay of Kirby and the Amazing Mirror, where Kirby is attacked by a dark Meta Knight, which splits him into four separate Kirbys. The four puff balls must all work together, travel the mirror dimension's vast worlds, and restore the Dimension Mirror. The game is more unique than past titles, structured more in a Metroidvania fashion instead of being a linear platformer. The game also features a variety of copy abilities, from classics like Spark to wholly unique ones like Cupid.

Back when it first released, Amazing Mirror's multiplayer was previously done through the Game Boy Advance Link Cable, which allowed two or more of the handheld systems to connect with each other. Players can either work together to tackle Amazing Mirror's story campaign or play against each other in the variety of competitive mini-games. The NSO version of the game will allow four players to connect and play with each other online, or play together locally offline.

Amazing Mirror was previously re-released on the Wii U Virtual Console and on 3DS via its Ambassador Program for early adopters. With the shutdown of both of those console's online storefronts earlier this year, it seems Nintendo Switch Online will be one of the definitive ways to play this multiplayer co-op classic. Players will require a subscription to the NSO Expansion Pack pass in order to get access to this game.

Kirby and the Amazing Mirror will come to the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack service on September 29, 2023.
