The Kingdom Hearts saga is sprawling, spanning decades and having been featured on a variety of different game platforms over the years. Those who want to experience the entire Kingdom Hearts story have had a rough go about it for the most part, but now fans can get the entire series in one complete package.

The new Kingdom Hearts collection features Kingdom Hearts: The Story So Far and Kingdom Hearts 3 for $49.99. It launches on March 17, 2020 as a PlayStation 4 exclusive, though it's possible that it will come to other platforms at some point in the future. It features seven full games in total, along with movies of Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded, and Kingdom Hearts X Back Cover, collecting the cut-scenes from those games so fans can still follow the story.

The one thing missing from this Kingdom Hearts collection is the recently released Kingdom Hearts 3 DLC, ReMind. The Kingdom Hearts 3 ReMind DLC picks up where the story left off at the end of KH3, laying the groundwork for future games in the franchise. So while the collection does include basically every game in the series in some capacity, those who want the truly complete story will need to shell out some extra cash for the ReMind DLC.

Even though the Kingdom Hearts 3 ReMind DLC isn't include with the package, it's still quite the collection and will keep fans busy for hundreds of hours. With next-generation consoles on the way, though, it wouldn't be surprising to see Square Enix bring the Kingdom Hearts games to new platforms. In future, it's quite likely that an even more complete package will be released that includes the Kingdom Hearts 3 ReMind DLC along with whatever other post-launch content Square Enix releases for the game.

Future Kingdom Hearts 3 DLC is still a mystery at this point, and it's unclear if Square Enix will bother to make more. There are two new Kingdom Hearts games in active development, so it's possible Square Enix will want to focus on those projects instead.

Whatever the case may be, the financial and critical success of Kingdom Hearts 3 guarantees that more entries will be released in the Kingdom Hearts series. Fans of the franchise can invest in this collection now, or wait for the possibility that an even bigger one is released sometime down the line.
