In a thread, Midori notes that their source shared this information months back in addition to rumors about the series coming to Steam. Midori did not believe the rumors initially, but the Steam announcement helped corroborate the rest of the information. Alongside the update on Kingdom Hearts 4, Midori has also recently claimed that Square Enix is developing a Final Fantasy 9 remake. A remake for Final Fantasy 9 has been long-rumored, but there is no official announcement yet.

Kingdom Hearts 4 Reportedly Looks Very Different From First Trailer

Midori additionally revealed that their source told them about developer BitGroove working on Kingdom Hearts Missing Link and planning a beta test for April. On April 22, applications for a Kingdom Hearts Missing Link closed beta opened, and the beta test began on May 2. Aside from Kingdom Hearts 4, which Square Enix has stayed quiet about, these rumors have proven mostly accurate. It is easier to confirm much of this information in hindsight, however. Kingdom Hearts fans appear to have exciting new updates to look forward to, and news may be fast approaching if rumors about Kingdom Hearts 4 releasing in 2025 are also true.

Another bit of information from Midori claims that the Kingdom Hearts series, including Kingdom Hearts 4, is headed to Nintendo's Switch successor.
