In almost every game world players visit, Kingdom Hearts 3 introduces some new gameplay mechanics that players have to learn if they hope to succeed in that world. While the game worlds do a decent job of teaching players the controls, sometimes they may forget how to do something, especially if it's not done in other levels.

One such new gameplay mechanic is introduced in the Pirates of the Caribbean-themed world in Kingdom Hearts 3, where Sora, Donald, and Goofy have some underwater adventures. There are various treasures to find underwater, not to mention plenty of enemies for players to fight as well. To actually dive and begin their underwater exploration, Kingdom Hearts 3 players simply need to pull in the left trigger.

When Kingdom Hearts 3 players want to rise to the surface, they need to pull in the right trigger instead. While swimming, they can press the B button on Xbox One or the Circle button on PlayStation 4 to swim faster. They can still attack enemies underwater with some of their magic as well as their keyblade, and will have to watch out for some unique hazards while exploring the watery depths of the Caribbean world.

One unique threat in the underwater sections of Kingdom Hearts 3 comes in the form of the jellyfish that can be found floating around caves and blocking Sora's path. These jellyfish are often stationary, and will damage Sora if he touches them. While it's usually possible to swim around these jellyfish, the better course of action is to use Thunder magic to wipe them all out in one fell swoop. Using Thunder magic should leave Kingdom Hearts 3 players with plenty of MP left in the tank, so using it on the jellyfish shouldn't put them into any tight spots.

With the swimming mechanics down, Kingdom Hearts 3 players should find it easier exploring the Caribbean world and finding the treasures hidden beneath the sea.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is out now for PS4 and Xbox One.
