Square Enix released a new trailer for the upcoming game, Kingdom Hearts 3 that delves into the world of Big Hero 6, and showcased characters that will appear in the title. The latest preview debuted at the PlayStation Lineup Tour, which serves as a pre-Tokyo Game Show event.

The latest footage for Kingdom Hearts 3 opens with main characters Sora, Donald, and Goofy battling the Heartless in San Fransokyo’s Golden Gate Bridge. Soon after, Big Hero’s Baymax, alongside Hiro, showed up just in time to help the protagonists in action. The trailer then continued to showcase brief glimpses of the worlds of Monsters Inc. and Tangled, which were previously featured in past trailers.

As the release date of KH3 approaches, it is exciting to see the worlds players will journey in soon. Previously, Square Enix released a preview of the Frozen World, which features the snow-covered Kingdom of Arendelle. Frozen characters such as Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, and Olaf were all present in the preview and will be encountered by the player in the upcoming game.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is set to be the closing chapter of the long-standing franchise, which is known for its smooth combination of Final Fantasy elements placed in the world of Disney and Pixar. The upcoming installment in the series will take players up to 40-50 hours to complete the primary campaign, but Square Enix revealed that gameplay can be stretched up to at least 80 hours if the player decides to unravel everything the game has to offer.

As far as platforms are concerned, Kingdom Hearts 3 will be limited to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for the time being. However, speaking at D23 Expo 2017, game director Tetsuya Nomura revealed that the team will consider other hardware options, such as the Nintendo Switch, once the game is released.

Given that the Switch has been successful with other Square Enix games such as Octopath Traveler, it is not too much of a stretch to imagine that the developers would release Kingdom Hearts 3 on Nintendo’s hybrid console as well. Of course, it is reassuring to know that the team is at least considering other platforms for KH3, but it is best to focus on what has been confirmed so far, at least for now.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is scheduled to launch on January 29, 2019, for the PS4 and Xbox One.
