The multiplayer survival horror game Killing Floor 2 by developer and publisher Tripwire Interactive throws players into a Europe in chaos after a company’s failed cloning experiments cause an outbreak to spread unhindered across the continent. Clones are wreaking havoc, governments are paralyzed, communications have failed, and civilization is upended.

The chaos can’t put a stop to Christmas, though, and Killing Floor 2: Christmas Crackdown has officially begun. The annual holiday event brings themed Zeds, menus, seasonal objectives, and festive cosmetic items to the Christmas Ticket system and for purchase. In celebration of the season, players can unwrap the new Frost Shotgun Axe and the HRG Vampire to help their Killing Floor 2 characters take down those pesky Zeds.

Killing Floor 2 allows gamers to team up in 6-player co-op or 12-player versus battles, and the Christmas Crackdown holiday event will feature the community map Elysium. This map supports the game’s challenging endless mode, in which players must stand against seemingly infinite waves of AI-controlled enemies, as well as other game modes such as weekly and survival.

In keeping with the season of giving, Tripwire will also launch a series of Killing Floor 2 special sales and promotions throughout December, and updates about the discounts will be posted to the company’s various social media platforms to keep players informed.

Tripwire has released free seasonal content updates for players since Killing Floor 2 first launched in November 2016. These updates, like the Killing Floor 2 Infernal Insurrection event that launched for Halloween, often include a new map, weapons, and cosmetic items.

Killing Floor 2 is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
