The upcoming asymmetrical horror game adaptation of Killer Klowns from Outer Space has revealed a new map that will let players experience the small-town feel of suburban Crescent Cove. Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game is set to be released in early June.
Killer Klowns from Outer Space is a campy '80s cult classic horror movie that has seen a resurgence of popularity in recent years, and the game adaptation looks to capitalize off that momentum. Since the Killer Klowns game was announced in August 2022, it's been generating buzz in the horror game community, showing off a playstyle that resembles games like Dead by Daylight, but with a more obviously colorful and over-the-top zany approach.

Fans can take a closer look at the eponymous and grotesque Klowns in the new trailer for Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game.
The cozy town of Crescent Cove serves as the backdrop for the movie, and many of its classic scenes take place downtown, such as the trashing of the convenience store, the lethal puppet show at the gazebo, and Shorty's pugilistic run-in with the biker gang. The newly revealed map has a distinctly Californian feel to it, offering both an open-space plaza as well as more tightly confined areas like building interiors, which should provide a lot of strategic options for Klowns on the hunt and the humans trying to escape them or fight back. Killer Klowns will feature three-on-seven matches, with the underpowered humans outnumbering their would-be predators, although the Klowns will be aided by AI Lackeys that will make it harder for humans to sneak around unnoticed. This new map adds the existing locations that have already been revealed for the game, such as the circus tent spaceship, amusement park area, and Top of the World make-out location.
How the Killer Klowns Game Compares to the Movie
The Killer Klowns game looks like the movie in a lot of ways, featuring iconic weapons like the ray gun that encapsulates humans in cocoons of pink cotton candy, where their bodies decompose and serve as the aliens' source of sustenance, and the gun that launches a carnivorous popcorn-like substance that seems to serve as the Klowns' babies. The biggest difference between the game and the movie seems to be that in the game, the Klowns can win.
Killer Klowns from Outer Space will release on June 4, but players who pre-ordered either the Standard or Deluxe Edition will be able to play a week early, starting on May 28. In addition to getting a week of early access, pre-order customers will also receive some rare cosmetic options to use in the game.
