How to Escape Cocoons in Killer Klowns From Outer Space
Escaping cocoons in Killer Klowns From Outer Space is a crucial aspect of gameplay, and there are two distinct methods you can employ: freeing yourself, or being rescued by another Human. We will detail both methods, ensuring that you are equipped with the knowledge to escape from a cocoon and survive.
How to Free Yourself From Cocoons
To release yourself from a cocoon in Killer Klowns From Outer Space, you must have a sharp weapon in your inventory when a Klown ensnares you. Suitable sharp weapons include the knife, the fire axe, and the poker. It's important to note that blunt melee weapons like a frying pan, bat, or branch won't work. With that in mind, it's a good idea to keep at least one sharp weapon in your inventory whenever possible.
Once you are fully encased in a cocoon and the animation finishes playing, you'll see an onscreen prompt telling you which button to press to free yourself using a sharp weapon. For instance, while playing on the Steam Deck or with an Xbox controller, you must press and hold the RT button to escape. Once done, you will free yourself from the Cocoon and stun the Klown. You'll know the Klown is stunned, as it will have tweeting birds flying above its head.
How to Free Other Humans From Cocoons
In addition to freeing yourself from a cocoon in Killer Klowns From Outer Space, other players can also free you, and you can free them. You can free players from a cocoon, whether left on the ground or hooked onto a Lackey Generator by a Lackey.
Run up to the Cocoon to free the person inside, and you'll get an onscreen prompt that shows you which button to press to free them. This action does take time, so make sure there are no Klowns around to attack you while you are in the process. You can cancel your actions and try again if needed. If a Klown comes back and picks up the Cocoon, you can make it drop the Cocoon by attacking the clown's nose, which will stun it.
