While the weapons available to Klowns will all have their uses, the abilities are much more polarized. Which ones should players take into their next match? Keep reading to find out the best Klown abilities, as well as how to make the most of them in the game.

Killer Klowns From Outer Space emerges from the cult horror genre; however, there are things most fans don't know about the unique horror movie.

7 Invisible Car

Great In Theory, Difficult In Practice

Invisible Car in Killer Klowns From Outer Space

The ability Invisible Car, associated with the Tank Class, is great in theory but is difficult to use in matches. When activated, your Klown will climb into an invisible car and zoom around the map under your control. This is much faster than walking, and hitting human players will deal damage and stun them. The point of this ability is obviously to offset the Tank's slow speed and atrocious stamina, but it just doesn't quite land.

First, the car can be difficult to control in the game's densely populated maps. Players will frequently run into obstacles - stunning themselves instead of their enemies. Secondly, the car is not subtle, meaning that humans will often duck behind such an obstacle before you can hit them. And finally, because Klowns need to be so careful to avoid stunning themselves through collision with walls and objects, walking or Klown Jump is often just as fast.

6 Baby Klown Traps

An Interesting Idea That Is Currently Unusable

Turning a Human into a Cocoon in Killer Klowns From Outer Space

The Trapper, a Klown class in the early access and full release of the game, is meant to have the ability Baby Klown Traps. This ability is supposed to allow them to lay down jack-in-the-boxes that will grab unsuspecting humans looking for loot and notify Klowns. However, a bug means that this ability doesn't work as intended.

Instead, the Trapper's ability is currently disabled while the devs (hopefully) work out the kinks. The ability looks pretty promising in terms of power level, but it is difficult to tell while it is bugged.

5 Pizza Box

An Ambush Worth Every Penny

The Pizza Box ability is a fantastic nod to the original movie and allows the Brawler Klown "Shorty" to jump into a pizza box with legs. Once inside, players can travel around the map stealthily, potentially finding enemy players while remaining undetected. Once Klowns have found a player, they can jump out of the box and deal a devastating uppercut to nearby players, stunning them. This gives the player a chance to kill or cocoon their prey without risking a chase sequence.

This ability seems very well-balanced for the game's current state - players who use it in their loadout can expect it to feel rewarding and land them one of the game's Klowntalities once or twice a match. However, it isn't without counterplay. Humans who are paying attention will notice a moving pizza box and have a chance to throw bricks at the Klown from a distance.

4 Klown Jump

Every Klown's Bread & Butter

The Klown Jump is one of the two basic Klown abilities that every Klown player has. It is also the first ability unlocked in each match. Despite being so basic, it is far from underwhelming. The ability to jump to any previously explored portion of the map is invaluable for Klowns. Not only does this allow players to change locations when noise is detected in other parts of the map, but it also potentially allows Klowns to catch up with humans who are running away.

However, it can take some practice before players use this ability properly. Once the Klown Jump ability is used, it goes on cooldown. This means a mistarget or wrong choice can lose the player precious time, forcing them to walk back to where they wanted to go and allowing the humans to escape.

3 LOL

Your Bog Standard Heal & Power Up

The LOL Ability is the other default Klown ability available to all players. This unlocks shortly after Klown Jump in each match and represents a key offensive capability. LOL, when activated, heals the player while providing a damage and speed boost. This combat steroid can help Klowns survive skirmishes with humans once they've found weapons or grouped up.

In addition, the cooldown for the ability is quite low, meaning players can also use it to speed up their chase or travel speed without worry. The only downside to LOL is that it is melee only and doesn't help Klowns find humans - two of the game's biggest challenges for the Klown Team.

2 Hypnotic Lure

Crowd Control On Demand

Hypnotic Lure is the best Combat Klown Ability in the game purely for its team play potential and crowd control. When used, the Hypnotic Lure attaches to a human and causes them to involuntarily approach the Klown for the duration. When the effect ends, the human is stunned for a couple of seconds before regaining control of their character.

Klowns working solo can use the stunned period to kill or cocoon the human, while those working in groups can damage the human player for the entire duration. As far as counterplay, dodging is truly the only thing humans can do to protect themselves when alone. In a group, other humans can stun the casting Klown to end the Lure early.

1 Balloon Dog

A Much-Needed Way To Find Humans

Screenshot of a Klown using the Balloon Dog ability

Balloon Dog is an ability that allows Klowns to find humans. When used, the Klown summons a balloon animal dog, which walks on a leash toward the nearest human for the duration. This allows Klowns to figure out where humans are on the map or even leads them to occupied hiding places in the middle of a tense chase sequence.

Balloon Dog is number one on this list because this utility is much needed. While combat and travel are both big parts of Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game, arguably the most difficult part of Klown gameplay is finding and sticking to human players long enough to harvest them. Klowns are at a vision and speed disadvantage in most chases, as well as generally announcing their approach with squeaky shoes. In contrast, humans can avoid making noise and have a wealth of hiding places in the game's cluttered map. Having a way to overcome that, even if it is on a significant cooldown, is invaluable.
