Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele are back together as they collaborate with animated director Henry Selick in his new Netflix film Wendell and Wild.

Unlike their previous collaborations, Key and Peele will take a demonic form in Selick's new Netflix film Wendell and Wild. The comedic pair have previously collaborated on animated projects including Toy Story 4, but they are best known for their collaboration on their comedy show Key and Peele.

The teaser shows Wendell and Wild trapped inside a boombox playing rock music. Both demons are seen wearing blue and white striped jail attire, proving they aren't confined to the boombox by choice. Wild impresses Wendell with a revitalizing trick as he uses a white cream to bring a crushed insect back to life. The teaser exits the inside of the boombox, allowing the background imagery of skulls, books, mushrooms, and various forms of taxidermy to be seen. The teaser ends by flashing an ominous warning to "Keep An Eye On Katsboombox.com."

The link takes viewers to Kat's Punk Playlist, featuring punk music from Sate, Bad Brains, Nafets, Big Joanie, Death, and more. The description warns listeners not to mind "the occasional demonic possession of her Cyclops boombox." The spotlighted tunes will likely be heard throughout the animated film as a part of its soundtrack. Tapping into each song's lyrics may give more insight into the film. Wendell and Wild's premise will follow the two demons as they try to defeat their arch-nemesis Sister Helly and two goth teens, Kat and Raoul.

To create the film, Selick teamed with Peele and Clay McLeod Chapman to write the screenplay. Peele has already made a name for himself as a haunting writer after his debut film Get Out won an Academy Award. He followed that by writing Us and contributing to the latest Candyman adaptation. Selick is also responsible for some of the most beloved Halloween movies. In 1993, Selick directed The Nightmare Before Christmas and has also directed James and the Giant Peach and Coraline. Wendell and Wild will be Selick's first film following the completion of Coraline in 2009.

Tying in the religious aspects Wendell and Wild appear to deal with, the animated film begins to include some of the most infamous horror themes. While Wendell and Wild's thirty-second teaser may not have revealed much, the accompanied link may offer a few hints before an official Netflix trailer is released. With Peele and Selick's minds involved in addition to Key's extensive animated work, the eerie animated film has the makings to be a success.

Wendell and Wild will debut on Netflix in 2022.
