As it turns out, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League won’t be Kevin Conroy’s final performance as Batman after all, as the late actor had recorded lines for two other projects before his passing in late 2022. Conroy first voiced The Dark Knight of DC Comics lore in the classic Batman: The Animated Series of the 1990s, and his distinct, deep tone quickly became the defining voice of the character for many fans. He would reprise his role in various shows, films, and games over the years before he passed away from cancer at the age of 66, with one of his most notable performances being Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham series.

Due to both Kevin Conroy’s passing and the ending of 2015’s Batman: Arkham Knight, fans weren’t expecting to see The Dark Knight return once more in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, but it was confirmed that Batman would be one of the brainwashed enemies Task Force X comes up against during the game. Conroy would be voicing the Arkhamverse Batman posthumously, and for the longest time it was believed that Suicide Squad marked his final performance as the Caped Crusader. However, fans will be able to hear Kevin Conroy in at least two more DC Comics projects, as reported by IGN. According to a source familiar with the situation, Conroy managed to record lines for Batman: Caped Crusader, an upcoming animated series set to launch on Amazon Prime Video at some point - though it isn’t clear what role he is playing there. He will also return for the animated film Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths, Part Three, reprising his iconic role as the Bruce Wayne/Batman from Batman: The Animated Series. Kevin Conroy’s publicist decided to comment on this, and IGN has since reached out to Warner Bros. Home Entertainment for further verification.
