Taro’s Love is a quest in Kena: Bridge of Spirits that players will encounter quite early during their playthroughs. It instructs fans to restore the Ancient Shrines in order to open the Guardian Tree, and there are four Shrines in total. Of these four Shrines, it is Kena: Bridge of Spirits’ Fishing Shrine that is likely to give players the most trouble, and this guide contains full details on exatly how to restore it.

How to Solve the Fishing Shrine Puzzle in Kena: Bridge of Spirits

To restore the Fishing Shrine, players must first shoot four stone pillars with Kena's Spirit Bow. These pillars encircle the Fishing Shrine, and action-adventure game fans should aim for the illuminated markings that are upon them. That said, players cannot simply fire at the pillars at random, as they must be hit in a very specific order.

With respect to how that order is determined, fans should look to the candles that are directly in front of the Fishing Shrine. These candles are divided into four groups, and their positions mimic the locations of the stone pillars. The intention here is that fans start by hitting the pillar that is associated with the one-candle group and work their way up, ending with the pillar that is associated with the four-candle group. More specifically, players should face the front of the Fishing Shrine and do exactly as follows:

  1. Shoot the pillar that is just to the right of the Fishing Shrine. (2 o’clock)
  2. Turn around 180 degrees and shoot the pillar that is on Kena’s right. (7 o’clock)
  3. Shoot the pillar that is to the left of Kena: Bridge of Spirits' protagonist. (4 o’clock)
  4. Turn around 180 degrees and shoot the pillar to the left of the Fishing Shrine. (10 o’clock)

As players hit the pillars, they will see that the candles in front of the Fishing Shrine light up. When all of them are lit, a Deadzone Heart on the Shrine will become accessible, and fans can use the Rot in Kena: Bridge of Spirits to get rid of it. This action will restore the Fishing Shrine, and players can now have a brief conversation with the character that materializes.

From there, fans are free to pursue any of the other Shrines they have yet to restore. In general, those additional Shrines are quite easy to address, as they do note feature puzzles and primarily center around dispatching enemies in Kena: Bridge of Spirits.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is available on PC, PS4, and PS5.
