Keanu Reeves is one of the most beloved actors on the planet, one whose impeccable public image, gestures, and contagious smile made him the perfect movie star to appear in Cyberpunk 2077, and yet he is always full of surprises.
At least that was the case for a British couple who happened to welcome the John Wick star as a special guest to their wedding, due to mere chance, according to a report by Newsweek that contains James and Nikki Roadnight's account of the moment. The couple tied the knot last weekend in front of the usual crop of friends and family at Fawsley Hall in Northamptonshire, where James happened to spot the actor at the hotel bar and invited him over for the celebration, but little did he know that Reeves would take him up on the offer.
The Roadnights were eventually informed by hotel staff that they had a special guest incoming, and although Reeves passed on that drink James offered him, he was nice enough to pose for a few pictures with the newlyweds and some of the guests. Nikki, a self-confessed Matrix fan, summed up the whole affair by saying, “My mum, Jo, took photos and shouted for everyone to yell 'Speed' as she took the photo [...] It was so cool!" They also claimed that Reeves' presence made an already perfect day even more unforgettable.
If this story seems rather unbelievable, those who keep up with Reeves' life will know that such actions are not that rare for the 57-year-old actor. After all, Reeves memes and his generous actions are always on the news. It’s unclear what Keanu was doing in South England, though working on John Wick 5 is definitely out of the question.
Naturally, Nikki is also a fan of Reeves' latest hit franchise, meaning she’s probably quite excited about what John Wick 4 could add to the series and possibly the Ana de Armas spinoff Ballerina as well. Despite all the fame and riches that he’s attained, Reeves always comes off as an extremely down-to-earth person, one who quietly donates a lot of money to charity, who’s always respectful to women, takes pay cuts to benefit his co-stars, and who is always willing to go the extra mile for fans and people.
He may be known for his exploits as an action movie star, but Reeves is as much of a stand-up guy as he is famous, and Reeves also has a lot of acting talent that he's shown in other film genres over the years.
John Wick: Chapter 4 is scheduled for release on March 24, 2023.
