Kazuya and Sephiroth's amiibo in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate are now available for purchase. The two characters are part of the cast of fighters added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the latest release in Nintendo's franchise, via DLC.Players saw Sephiroth added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in 2020, bringing one of the main characters from the Final Fantasy franchise to the platform fighting game. In SSBU, Cloud's archenemy has relatively polarizing attributes, and his Final Smash references the final battle of Final Fantasy 7. Meanwhile, Kazuya Mishima is a name well-known to fighting game fans. Added to SSBU in 2021, Kazuya appeared as the protagonist of the first Tekken. From the second Tekken, however, Kazuya becomes the antagonist of the Tekken franchise and a major adversary of his son Jin Kazama.RELATED: NieR: Automata Director Wanted Game's Characters in Smash Bros.The Kazuya and Sephiroth amiibo were announced last year, and are now available for $15.99 each on Nintendo's official website and at select retailers. Sephiroth appears in the same imposing pose seen in the official SSBU artwork and carries his trademark weapon, the Masamune sword. Interestingly, Sephiroth wields the sword in reverse, as he often does when it is not in use. Kazuya's amiibo features the character in a pose ready to fight, wearing his characteristic white karate pants with gold accents, black belt, red foot guards, and red fingerless gloves with metal pins.

Amiibo are figurines and interactive cards available for use on Nintendo consoles. Amiibo were released in 2014 along with Super Smash Bros. 4: when a player connects an amiibo through the NFC reader, they have access to extra in-game features. Amiibo have different effects depending on the game and can unlock new modes, weapons, or character customizations. The release of Steve's amiibo is one of the most recent, while the amiibo of Pyra and Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 after Kazuya and Sephiroth.

Although the relationship between Nintendo and Smash Bros. players is difficult, the game remains one of the company's most popular titles. Super Smash Bros Ultimate ranks among the most popular games on the Nintendo Switch, and it's not hard to see why. Amiibo also reinforce the franchise's popularity, keeping it fresh in the minds of players.
