Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths Part One kicks off the crescendo of DC's Tomorrowverse. The build-up to this trilogy can be traced back to Justice League Dark: Apokolips War, which ends with Flash creating another flashpoint following the ruined state of the world. DC's push for continuity in its animated movies is similar to Marvel's Cinematic Universe. As such, Part One is packed with rich history, mystery and a lot to think about.

Like Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War, DC has hinted at the movies' plot in the preceding movies Green Lantern: Beware My Power and Constantine: House of Mystery. Bringing back characters like Constantine, The Monitor, Amazo, and Spectre the first movie in the trilogy is filled with interesting characters and strays from the comics. However, after airing the movie has left fans wondering what the ending means for the future of the tomorrowverse.

Members of the Justice League have experienced some unusual team-ups over the years in both film and television.

Is Amazo a Hero or a villain?

Amazo is an advanced android created by Dr. Anthony Ivo while working under Lex Luthor. According to the machine, its primary purpose is to preserve human life by absorbing metaenergy and using it to save elongate lives. However, this love for humanity doesn't include metahumans and aliens like Superman and Martian Manhunter.

In the opening scenes of Part One, Amazo is just a newborn android who is confused on how to fulfill his primary purpose. He easily overpowers Superman and Flash. This portrayed Amazo as a villain and leads to the formation of the Justice League as a measure against him. Under the influence of Lex Luthor, Amazo eventually overcomes league members, but Dr. Ivo uses his death to expose Luthor's lies and bring Amazo back to the hero's side.

In the final scenes, Amazo acts as a conduit on one of the towers built to stop the Anti-matter wave. While his role in the beginning is challenging to piece together, Amazo's ability to absorb meta-energy is used to power up the towers that eventually stop the anti-matter wave. However, Amazo is destroyed in the process.

Why Is Flash to Blame for the End of the World?

The Flash is the main character of the Part One series, and his causative role in the events that take place can easily be traced back to earlier movies. In Constantine: House of Mystery, fans can recall that Constantine is banished for eternity to the house of mystery for encouraging Flash to create another flashpoint. As an extra punishment for escaping the house of mystery, the Spectre forces Constantine to watch the world end.

In the Crisis on Infinite Earth's movie, Barry's head is probably a mess due to the Flashpoint he created and an old shabby beggar fans can identify as Constantine keeps appearing before him to open his eyes to the imminent destruction of the universe. Eventually, Flash stops the anti-matter wave, and the Spectre appears before him and tells him that he will face punishment for his part in the events. He is given a chance to return to the beginning and fix everything.

Flash travels to the past, where he first gets his powers, then once more in the Warworld era. Here, he encounters Warworld, who seems to have turned Bruce Wayne into his slave, still Flash begs Bruce to save reality. Only the Spectre truly understands what is going on, and fans can only guess what will happen next and anticipate the reveal of the truth surrounding Flash's guilt in Part Two.

How Powerful is the Speed Force?

Once again, the speed force plays an important role in DC's animated universe. The speed force is the power source for every speedster. In this movie, speedsters in a universe share the speed force with each other. This means that a speedster alone in the universe will have unfiltered access to the speed force. In a world where Luthor is a hero, Johnny Quick, the speedster in the crime syndicate, affirms this when he meets Flash. He eventually dies, and Flash absorbs all the speed force from his universe.

The speed force is what gives Flash the power to travel in time and between universes, but more than that, the power of the speed force eventually decides the fate of the universe. After Flash returns from the Crime Syndicate's Earth, he is bubbling with the absorbed speed force. This is when Monitor's assembled heroes, who had formed a think tank, realize that the speed force would be the perfect power source for the Towers. Flash then uses his speed to seemingly slow down time, power up Amazo and stop the Anti-matter wave.

How Did Flash Slow Down Time?

Towards the end of the movie, an aged Barry and Iris appear. It seems time has slowed for the duo, and all events were happening in a millisecond. As it was clear the universe was coming to an end, Flash vibrated so fast that he created a pocket of reality where it was just him, Iris, and Amazo.

Flash has enough time to grow old with Iris while finishing the Tower, using Amazo as a conduit to store the kinetic energy he uses to power the Tower. After Iris dies, Flash returns to real-time just in time to power up the Tower and stop the anti-matter wave dead in its tracks to save the world. The only reason Flash could pull off such an incredible feat in Justice Leage: Crisis on Infinite Earths Part One is because he absorbed most of the speed force after the Crime Syndicate's universe is destroyed.
