The deathly slapstick game Just Die Already has received a firm release date with a new trailer, showcasing some of the madness players can expect to endure when it arrives on May 20.

This might be one of the wackiest games to come out of 2021 so far. Violent enough to get blocked by an age gate on Steam, players will assume the role of the elderly in Just Die Already, and, as the title might suggest, the goal is to survive in a world where it wants old people to "just die already." It's described as an "old people" simulator by developer DoubleMoose, made up of some of the same designers from Goat Simulator.

The premise is almost just as silly as Goat Simulator as well: Just Die Already's story begins after the player is kicked out of a retirement home. Due to "those ungrateful millennials" choosing to play games all day instead of working, the game's description says, there's no one to pay the pension, and now the player must explore the world in search of retirement tickets to cover the cost of living in a retirement home.

The problem is that the world wants old people to die in Just Die Already, by any means possible. This detailed world is filled with all kinds of useable items, ranging from normal video game weapons and armor like axes and jetpacks to far more bizarre options such as trampolines, giant fish, and musical instruments. Filled to the brim with mayhem, Just Die Already releases for all major consoles next month.

Players who'd like to pick up the game for PC can get a 20% discount on Steam through May 25, five days after Just Die Already's release.

Just Die Already is set to release May 20 for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
