Specifically, with the reveal of the upcoming Jurassic Park Survival game, the industry could be seeing its next game on par with the acclaimed Alien: Isolation from 2014.

Not only is a new, ambitious survival game something for fans of the genre to get excited about, but especially after the success of certain other licensed game adaptations, Jurassic Park Survival could very well take the crown for the new best game adaptation. Jurassic Park video game adaptations of licensed movie franchises aren’t a new thing, especially within this specific franchise. However, with the hardware and standards of the current and future generations of gaming consoles, the sky is the limit at this point in the industry. Unlike most of the previously released Jurassic Park video game adaptations, none of them seem to wear the film franchise’s history on their shoulders quite as proudly as Jurassic Park Survival. From the brief reveal trailer shown off at the 2023 Game Awards, some of the iconic scenes, locations, and other references from the classic Jurassic Park movies are immediately recognizable to familiar fans.

Between the movie’s presence in the game and the ambitious nature of a survival game set in the Jurassic Park universe, Jurassic Park Survival could be one of the best video game adaptations that gamers have seen in a long time. The last time gamers saw this level of dedication to a film’s source material was arguably from Alien: Isolation. Despite being almost ten years old by now, Alien: Isolation was a major release that still merits praise to this day because of the beloved nostalgia that it carried into the gaming genre from its fan-favorite film franchise.

While recently plenty of film and TV adaptations of video games have become a hot topic, it’s been a while since things were the other way around. There have been plenty of adaptations since Alien: Isolation’s release in 2014, but nothing quite compares to this game’s success and impact on the gaming industry. Stephen King Game Adaptations

There are a few Stephen King video game adaptations out there already, but there haven’t been any official games related to this author’s works in at least a decade now.
