Jurassic Park fans will be able to play two classic games of the franchise soon with the release of Jurassic Park: Classic Games Collection, which reunites two original games from the series originally released in the 90s. While not everyone would put these titles among the best retro games of the 90s, they have certainly left their mark on the people who played them back in the day.

Directed by Steven Spielberg, the first Jurassic Park is easily one of the most important movies of the 90s, and easily the best Jurassic Park movie. Not only the movie was a big cultural hit, but it also brought several technical achievements to the area, especially in areas such as CGI. Now, Jurassic Park is having its 30th anniversary, and gamers will be able to remember some of the first games inspired by the franchise by playing them on modern consoles.

Limited Run Games just announced the Jurassic Park: Classic Games Collection, which will bring Jurassic Park (NES, Game Boy, and SNES) and Jurassic Park Part 2: The Chaos Continues (Game Boy and SNES) to modern platforms. The first title is among the best Jurassic Park games ever made, and both releases add new features, such as save states, in-game maps, and other quality-of-life tweaks that will make it easier for people to replay these games or try them out for the first time.

Physical editions of the Jurassic Park collection will be available for pre-orders between September 1, and October 15. The Standard Edition will cost $29.99, and the Classic Edition, which comes with a steelbook and packaging inspired by the original VHS of the movie, will cost $64.99. Collectors may also be interested in the Prehistoric Edition, which costs $174.99 and comes with the contents in the classic version, plus a replica of Dr. Alan Grant's ID card used in the game, the soundtrack in a physical CD, and mini-replicas of the cartridges used for the original games.

The release of these remasters and the 30th anniversary of the franchise come on the heels of the Jurassic World Dominion movie, which ended the current trilogy of the series. Jurassic World Dominion got mixed reviews, as it was a fairly divisive movie that ended a trilogy that was not as successful as the first one. This makes now the perfect time for fans to reminisce about the past with these classic games inspired by the first two movies.

Jurassic Park: Classic Games Collection will be available later in 2023 for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
