A descendant of the Inumaki clan and semi-grade 1 Jujutsu sorcerer, Toge Inumaki is one of Jujutsu Kaisen's popular and pivotal characters who inherited the cursed speech technique, a technique which uses speech combined with cursed energy to force a listener to obey the command given by the cursed speech user.
Toge develops his own unique dialects in order to avoid cursing his comrades and uses words such as "Salmon" to say yes and "Bonito Flakes" to say no. To unleash his cursed speech, Toge was marked with the Serpent Eyes and Fangs seal, which can be seen on his cheeks and tongue.
Cursed Speech Technique
Although Toge appears to be silent most of the time, his cursed speech energy is extremely powerful and has the ability to control the actions and movements of the person/cursed spirit the cursed speech is being directed at. For example if Toge were to yell "don't move" his target would then be completely immobilized. Toge's speech ability doesn't just stop there, he is even able to use his cursed speech through telecommunication devices, this is seen when he puts Miwa to sleep by calling her on her cell phone during the exchange event and uttering the words "sleep".
Toge is also quick on his wits when in battle, although he is not as fast as his peers, he is able to evade attacks and land his cursed speech attacks on targets. Apart from his defense words such as "stop" or "don't move" Toge is also able to use offense attack moves such as "explode" causing his target to explode at will, "get twisted" forces the target to twists to the point of mutilation. "Get crushed" is another cursed speech attack that plummets the target into the ground and finally "blast away" another powerful command that literally blasts away an opponent with extreme force, this is seen when Toge does this to Hanami, causing the cursed spirit to blast a few feet away into a building.
In the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, Toge is not the only person who uses cursed speech as Yuta Okkotsu is also seen to be using a megaphone which is marked with the Serpent Eyes and Fangs seal of the Inumaki clan. By using the megaphone Yuta was able to command all of Geto's cursed energy spirits to disintegrate by just uttering the word "die." Cursed speech is mostly used for long-range attacks and is also effective against all types of living opponents who are unaware of how to avoid cursed speech attacks.
Drawbacks
Just like most cursed energy attacks, cursed speech also has its weaknesses. Cursed speech takes heavy damage on the user's body causing the user to cough up blood. The power of the side effects depends on how powerful the words used are, this can be seen when Toge coughs up blood after using the words "blast away" on Hanami, rendering him weak and worn down after the constant use of his cursed speech during the fight.
Cursed speech users also needs to focus their attacks on a specific target, as the power has a long range and it is possible to affect those who are around if they are not paying attention. This is why Toge speaks in rice ball ingredients to avoid accidentally cursing his peers when talking to them. Jujutsu Sorcerers who are aware of the cursed speech technique is able to block the cursed speech being registered in their brain, leaving them immune to cursed speech attacks. This would mean that Toge's cursed speech attacks would be ineffective against Jujutsu Sorcerers who are able to block these commands.
