These two powerhouses went head to head and it was quite clear to see that they were evenly matched, for the most part. Jujutsu Kaisen: The Return Of Toji Fushiguro, Explained

While Toji died during Gojo's Past arc, he makes his comeback during Shibuya.

Shortly afterward, Kashimo stepped on the battlefield in an attempt to fight Sukuna himself, as he had always wanted to test his skill against him. Fans got a good glimpse of that fight in the previous chapter and, towards the end of it, Sukuna finally returned to his true form, which is going to be him at his very peak.

Sukuna's In Yuji And Megumi's Body

For the biggest chunk of Jujutsu Kaisen, fans got to see Sukuna use several vessels. This started with Itadori in the very first chapter of the story, where he consumed one of his fingers, which was a cursed object. Just one finger gave him tremendous power and allowed him to fight incredibly dangerous enemies. Sukuna had a whole plan laid down for his reincarnation and, being born in an era long after his own, he wanted to let loose and kill people, doing whatever he wanted in the process. While Yuji easily controlled the presence of Sukuna, there were moments when he manifested and when that happened, large-scale destruction followed. A prime example of that is what happened at the end of Shibuya where Sukuna caused large-scale destruction and killed countless people. Furthermore, with more fingers being consumed with time, Sukuna's influence started to grow even further. Eventually, Sukuna's own plan progressed further when he took over Megumi's body.

This was his plan from the very beginning, since he earmarked him as a very special candidate. Sukuna even saved his life in Shibuya and all this was because he wanted to use him in the future. After taking over Megumi's body, fans got to see Sukuna on a completely different level. He fought quite a lot of powerful enemies, and the strongest of them all was, by far, none other than Gojo. At this point, Sukuna was at his very best and he also had the leverage in this fight since he was in control of Megumi's body, who Gojo valued quite a lot. Furthermore, to make things worse, Sukuna also gained access to the 10 Shadows Technique, which is an incredibly dangerous power, as fans got to see during their fight.

Using all the powers that were accessible to him, Sukuna was able to triumph over Gojo. However, this victory came at a very big expense. Sukuna was not able to utilize his full power anymore. This was down to the fact that Gojo whittled him down quite a bit and nearly killed him in battle as well. Sukuna ended up losing chunks of his body, such as his left hand and even his left eye. His whole body was left in tatters.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Nobara's Return, Explained

Nobara Kugisaki, one of the main characters of Jujutsu Kaisen could make her comeback after fans thought she died during the events of Shibuya.

What's worse, he could not make use of Domain Expansion or even Domain Amplification. His Reverse Cursed Technique was completely busted and he could not even utilize that in combat. When Kashimo stepped in to fight against Sukuna, it was quite clear that the former had an advantage. This was because Sukuna was extremely weakened by Gojo already and, given the fact that Kashimo himself was quite strong and that his cursed technique allowed him to fight at the very highest level, Sukuna was bound to have a lot of trouble. That is precisely why he decided to go ahead with the reincarnation plan and with that, at the end of JJK chapter 237, fans saw Sukuna return for the very first time in 1000 years.

Sukuna's Reincarnation – The Return Of True Form Sukuna

At the end of JJK chapter 237, Sukuna returned to his true form and surprised all the viewers alike. Fans were not expecting this to be his trump card. However, it is not as if this came out of nowhere. A few chapters ago, while Sukuna was still fighting against Gojo, it was made clear that Sukuna still held a trump card up his sleeve that he was not using, just in case. Had the likes of Maki and Yuta jumped onto the battlefield to help Gojo, then Sukuna would have tapped into this power. Now, his back is against the wall and that is precisely why he finally decided to reveal his trump card.

As mentioned by the narrator, Sukuna has a power where he can bring back his true body, however, he can do this only once. This process does not involve the usage of Reverse Cursed Technique and yet, it allows him to heal completely. This means Sukuna is completely fresh at the moment. Everything about him, from his strength to his cursed energy reserves have all been restored. He can once again tap into the powers of Malevolent Shrine and, at the same time, he can also use skills such as Domain Amplification, among other things. Sukuna is completely unstoppable at the moment and while fans have seen him go all out in the body of Megumi, he will most likely be proficient in a whole different way when he's in his true form.

How Strong Is Sukuna's True Form?

It is quite clear for the fans to see that Sukuna will now showcase why he is the King of Curses. His body has four arms and multiple eyes. This will give him the ability to wield multiple cursed tools. He already got one Cursed Tool in the previous chapter and as fans know that he also wields a trident. This trident is not available to him at the moment, however, it is likely that he will get it in the future. Regardless, Sukuna will now showcase his immense cursed energy now that his reserves have been completely refilled. Furthermore, the biggest thing that fans should keep their eyes on now is his Cursed Technique revelation.

Fans do not know what exactly his Cursed Technique is. Sukuna himself has refrained from mentioning it in the past. Now that he's back to his very best, fans can very well see him reveal his technique and explain how he is able to copy other powers, on top of using Dismantle and Cleave. It shouldn't be a surprise to the fans if he can even create a version of the Cursed Technique that Kashimo was seen using. Above all, Sukuna can now truly use the powers of Dismantle and Cleave and get rid of Kashimo. By all means, he is way too overpowered right now and there is no sorcerer alive who can't take him down. Even if the likes of Yuta, Maki, and Yuji combine the powers, it would still not be enough to take him down. Fans have been left questioning as to how this monster will be taken down in combat and that just got harder with Sukuna's true form manifesting.

Jujutsu Kaisen is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of JJK, Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 238, is set to be October 8, 2023.
