Jujutsu Kaisen is filled with various supernatural elements that easily captivate viewers. One of these elements that stands out is the presence of Shikigami - powerful and familiar curses summoned by Jujutsu sorcerers to act as support in battle.

Shikigami users tend to be weak in close-range combat with a few exceptions, as their shikigami are their primary source of attack and defense. The effectiveness of shikigami depends on the sorcerer's ability to use them and the shikigami’s strength and abilities. Here are some of the strongest shikigami in Jujutsu Kaisen, some of their feats, powers, significance, and peculiar use cases.

10 Gama

Gama is a toad-like shikigami from the ten shadows technique that always has Megumi’s back. It is a shikigami mainly used for support. Introduced as early as in episode 4, Gamma was used by Megumi for different reasons.

It was used for search and rescue when Megumi used it to save Nobara and carry her to safety in the fearsome womb arc. Its tongue can be used to restrain opponents, as Megumi tried to do with Todou, and attack and slam people against objects, as Megumi used it against Awosaka in Shibuya. Its tongue is also fast enough to save Megumi from damage, as seen in his fight against Toji.

9 Rabbit Escape

rabbit escape

Rabbit Escape is one of the weakest shikigami from the ten shadows technique. Megumi creates a countless swarm of rabbit shikigami that can overwhelm an opponent and temporarily confuse them. Rabbit Escape is a shikigami used mainly by Megumi to provide support and to escape from his opponents, as the amount of shikigami temporarily distracts his opponents.

And this shikigami has saved Megumi a lot of times, from when it helped him escape from Toji temporarily in Shibuya to when the amount of shikigami gave him enough time to think against Kirara. And unlike any other shikigami, no matter how many rabbits die, Megumi can keep spawning more as it doesn’t affect the technique.

8 Nue

One of the first shikigami from the ten shadows we ever saw Megumi use. Nue is Megumi's most versatile Shikigami, as it is used for offense, defense, escape, and recon due to its mobility and ability to fly.

Nue works as support as its greatly effective when combined with other shikigamis, with Nue and Orochi against Sukuna and Nue and Max Elephant against Noritishi Kamo. Even though it was ineffective, Nue was used as an escape mechanism by Megumi during his fight against Sukuna. Nue was barely able to survive the damage from Sukuna's blows. Nue also has electrified wings that can stun his opponents in a fight, as used against Nishimiya Momo to great effect in the goodwill event.

7 Orochi

A snake-like shikigami from the ten shadows technique is used mainly for offensive attacks. This shikigami can be quickly summoned to catch opponents off guard as it appears from the ground.

Megumi used this shikigami in episodes 4 and 5. To save Nobara and to attack Sukuna, respectively. For the former, the shikigami attacked the cursed spirits effectively, and for the latter, the shikigami could catch Sukuna off guard and carry him in its mouth as it coordinated attacks with Nue.

Sadly, Sukuna destroyed this shikigami a few moments after that, leaving fans curious to see how the techniques of Orochi would be transferred to another shikigami.

6 Max Elephant

Another shikigami from the ten shadows technique summons an elephant bigger and taller than Megumi. Megumi first tamed this shikigami in the goodswill arc and can only use this shikigami alone as he claims, “it burns through cursed energy.”

The shikigami can release a large volume of water from its trunk, and its sheer volume and pressure could blast Noritoshi Kamo out through a solid wall. The versatility of Max Elephant is also impressive, as Megumi used it just for its weight when he and Yuuji fought Awosaka in Shibuya and against Reggie in Tokyo Colony 1.

5 Judgeman

judgeman

A shikigami used by Hiromi Higuruma. Higuruma is one of the manga fans' favorite introductions in the culling games. After he gained his cursed technique, he reached the level of a grade 1 sorcerer in just two weeks. Judgeman is a shikigami mainly operating in Higuruma's domain expansion, "Deadly sentencing."

Higuruma used Judgeman against Yuuji in Tokyo Colony 1 in a fight considered one of the series's most genuine and emotional fights. Judgeman can gain information that can be used against someone in Higuruma's domain expansion. Judgeman always finds out the truth, so it’s impossible to lie to him. And once Jugeman finds you guilty, the punishments vary from the cursed technique or cursed energy confiscation to death.

4 Divine Dogs: Totality

Divine Dogs: Totality

After the death of one shikigami, a ten shadows user can never summon that shikigami again, but the abilities and techniques get transferred to another one. And that's what happened after the death of the white demon dog as its abilities were transferred to the black divine dog creating Divine dog Totality.

It is a bigger and faster divine dog, giving Megumi his most attack-minded shikigami in the first season of the anime as it was able to injure Hanami, a special grade cursed spirit, and exorcise a special grade finger bearer cursed Spirit with just one strike. The shikigami was also highly effective in his fight in Tokyo Colony 2. Divine Dog Totality was able to injure and kill the curse user Reggie Star.

3 Piercing Bull

piercing bull

The latest shikigami from the ten shadows technique is revealed to fans in chapter 217. As the name implies, Piercing bull is a huge bull-like shikigami used mainly to attack.

Although this shikigami can only move in a straight line to attack, the more distance it covers, the more force it generates to attack its opponent. The pair could completely shatter Yorozu’s armor when used with Max Elephant. The full extent of this shikigami’s strength hasn’t been seen as it has only been shown once, but fans can’t wait for the next time they’ll see a piercing bull used in the manga.

2 Round Deer

Round Deer is a towering large deer shikigami from the Ten Shadows technique. The deer is bigger than Megumi and has one of the most broken abilities among all of Megumi’s shikigami.

This deer can use the reverse cursed technique to heal with the reverse cursed technique, and since the reverse cursed technique is positive energy, it can nullify cursed techniques since they result from the negative cursed technique. After seeing this shikigami, the different ways Round deer can be used in battle made many manga fans create theoretical use cases.

1 Eight-handled Sword Divergent Sila Divine General Mahoraga

Eight-handled Sword Divergent Sila Divine General Mahoraga jujutsu kaisen

This shikigami is the strongest and most uncontrollable shikigami in the ten shadows technique. And no ten shadows user in history has ever been able to tame it. Although it can be used in battle as an exorcism ritual like Megumi did in Shibuya against Haruto Shigemo. But Mahoraga's most broken ability is its ability to adapt to all phenomena.

The moment Mahoraga gets hit with an ability or a technique, and it gets damaged, the eight-handled wheel on its back spins. And after the wheel spins, it heals itself; it can counter that attack to the point where the attack is no longer efficient against it. This is why no single 10 Shadows user has ever been able to tame it.
