Foundational to the world of Jujutsu is the ability of a jujutsu sorcerer to manifest cursed energy. More so important is possessing cursed techniques and innate abilities. These innate techniques, however, are specific abilities that jujutsu sorcerers are born with, depending on the sorcerer’s bloodline, as seen with the Three Great Families.
However, as portrayed through the series, these abilities are not the ultimate metrics that determines the worth of a Jujutsu sorcerer. This is evident in quite a few characters who, despite not possessing innate abilities, possess undeniable strength in the Jujutsu society. In regards to this, here are some of these characters.
10 Juzo Kumiya
A minor antagonist of the show, Juzo, a Kenjaku group member, is portrayed as arrogant and crazy. Despite exhibiting sociopathic tendencies, Juzo is a formidable opponent for any sorcerer as he is a curse user proficient at weapon crafting and handling.
In addition, he is also very skilled at barrier techniques making him balanced in offense and defense. Despite his antics and fits of craziness, Juzo is a fearsome Jujutsu sorcerer.
9 Roukujushi Miyo
One of the reincarnated of the culling game, Miyo is a rather distinct sorcerer, given his peculiar hairstyle. He is enthusiastic about sumo wrestling which is unsurprising given he was summoned from an era where sumo was considered normal.
Although Miyo’s abilities are not extensively displayed, he has immense physical capabilities that are strong enough to overpower Maki Zen’in in a sumo bout, defeating her consecutively. He also possessed a simple domain whose sole purpose was sumo wrestling.
8 Panda
Panda is a major supporting character in the show. Although not an actual panda but a mutated cursed corpse created by Principal Yaga. Panda is a grade 2 level sorcerer who specializes in hand-to-hand combat. Due to being a cursed corpse, he possesses a high affinity for cursed energy.
Also displaying above-average battle intellect, Panda is considered a tricky opponent to face off against as he possesses three different cores, which give him the ability to take on three various forms, depending on the level of his opponent. On top of these is his impressive physical capabilities which see him display superhuman strength and endurance.
7 Hagane Daido
Another participant in the culling games, Daido, is the reincarnation of an unnamed swordsman summoned by Kenjaku for the culling games. Despite not even being a jujutsu sorcerer, Daido is acknowledged for having unparalleled proficiency with a blade, putting him on par with most sorcerers.
Such is his skill that he easily defeated a vengeful Naoya Zen’in, an opponent that Maki struggled against. With enhanced senses, he can accurately attack curses despite being unable to see them, and he can also differentiate between a cursed tool and an ordinary weapon.
6 Miguel
Previously a loyal subordinate and a commander for Geto Suguru, Miguel is forcefully recruited by Satoru Gojo following Geto’s death. Descending from a family of Jujutsu sorcerers in Africa, Miguel can hold his own even against the strongest sorcerers.
Having nothing but cursed energy and his cursed weapon, Miguel is proficient at hand-to-hand combat. He also possesses superhuman endurance, as depicted in his battle against Gojo, where he held out successfully despite losing his cursed tool, The Black Rope.
5 Higuruma Hiromi
Higuruma is another participant in the culling games summoned by Kenjaku. Portrayed as relaxed, Higuruma is most notable for his ingenuity. Having been reincarnated without any knowledge of cursed energy whatsoever, Higuruma is able to grasp the basics of cursed energy by simply analyzing his default Domain expansion and barrier techniques.
Having gained the ability to manifest a Domain expansion in tandem with his superior intellect and skilled use of his cursed tool, Higuruma is a menacing opponent to go against.
4 Itadori Yuji
The show's main protagonist, Yuji, is the vessel for Ryoumen Sukuna. Blessed with superhuman physical capabilities, Yuji is one of the strongest students at Tokyo Jujutsu High. While he has no cursed techniques, Yuji is adept at cursed energy reinforcement, which he can combine well with his physical features, making him a deadly hand-to-hand combatant.
He is also a fast learner, a testament to his consecutive use of the Black Flash technique, which is difficult to grasp even among veteran jujutsu sorcerers.
3 Yuta Okkotsu
One of the very few special-grade sorcerers in the show, Yuta Okkotsu possesses one of the most feared curses. He is said to have the potential to surpass Gojo Satoru. Yuta is an expert weapons specialist who can use various cursed tools but mainly uses a katana.
He possesses superhuman reflexes and a vast amount of cursed energy, so he is proficient at cursed energy reinforcement and manipulation. Asides from weapons, Yuta is also an expert hand-to-hand combatant, and these, in combination with his high battle intellect, make him a genuinely frightening sorcerer.
2 Maki Zen’in
\Born into the Zen’in clan with very little cursed energy, Maki is severely mistreated despite her abundant physical capabilities. Self-expelled from her family, she became a sorcerer at Tokyo Jujutsu High regardless.
With her Heavenly Restriction Pact granting her immense physical capabilities, she is an expert at using cursed tools, which in tandem with her expertise in hand-to-hand combat, make her a devastating sorcerer. Her physical abilities are upgraded after her sister's death, after which she gains a steel body, putting her on par with the sorcerer killer, Toji.
1 Toji Fushiguro
Formerly a member of the Zen’in clan, Toji Fushiguro, similar to Maki, was born without an ounce of cursed energy within him, making him a natural enemy of jujutsu sorcerers. Possessing inhuman physical capabilities due to his Heavenly Restriction Pact, Toji had a natural resistance to curses.
With combat skills above the level of even elite sorcerers, he is a master weapons specialist with an array of cursed tools. He also possesses inhuman reflexes and is a master hand-to-hand combatant. Having the battle intellect to balance out all his abilities, Toji is among the strongest in the series.
