The trailer starts with Suguru Getō's voice as he rehashes a plan involving Gojō and a seal, as well as the day of execution: October 31. Series protagonist Yuji Itadori assumes a far graver demeanour than usual in this trailer as the stakes are higher than ever, and he seeks to prove himself as a competent Jujutsu Sorcerer.

The majority of the trailer is made up of quick cuts of various action scenes that we can come to expect from the next arc in the JUJUTSU KAISEN story. The key visual centres Yuji as he walks towards the viewer, with the various characters involved in this arc collaged in the background, with Gojo's smiling face emerging ominously from Yuji's shadow towards the bottom of the poster, while Geto appears directly opposite.

The JUJUTSU KAISEN anime series is based on the manga by Gege Akutami, currently published in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine since March 2018, collecting into 23 volumes as of July. The prequel, Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School was originally published in the Jump Giga magazine from April to July 2017 and collected into a single volume of four chapters that came to be known as JUJUTSU KAISEN 0. VIZ Media has licensed the series for publication in English since December 2019, with 20 volumes currently in print and the 21st expected in November.

The first season of the anime aired for 24 episodes from October 2020 to March 2021, followed by the film adaptation of JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 in December 2021. The currently-airing second season premiered in July, with 5 episodes exploring the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death arc featuring aspects of Satoru Gojō's past with JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 antagonist Suguru Getō, who serves as the primary antagonist of the Shibuya Incident Arc. The last episode of this arc aired on August 3. The remaining 18 episodes will be adapting the Shibuya Incident arc and broadcast begins on August 31.
